General Gozzip, 2yo c, Deep Impact x Gozzip Girl (USA), made his debut at Hanshin (1600m, turf) on 14 Sep, finishing 4th (with the fastest final 3F).
http://web-cache.stream.ne.jp/web/jra/o ... pe=2&thum=
#2, with Hamanaka
●'Giving loud neighs both in the parading ring and in his starting stall for an immediate race, and furthermore throwing off the jockey down on the turf on his way to the gate, he, however, broke bad . Chasing the field slowly (the second from the last), firing his engine at last in the homestretch resulted in a 33.1 sec spurt which, although too late, is the same as his sire clocked in his debut at Hanshin 9 years ago.' (fan's report)
●'Green. ' (jockey's comment)
Having a relatively low pre-race rating, he may win his next maiden on Oct.

You're welcome!
Rouge Buck, 2yo f, Manhattan Cafe x Ginger Punch (USA), makes her debut at Niigata 5R, 1800m turf for 2yo newcomers, on Sunday. The starters are just 9, so few that no traffic congestion will occur in the 600m wide homestretch. Her jockey is K Tosaki, the JRA leading jockey at the moment. Her movement at workouts is so dynamic, which I saw, that the trainer moved the debut earlier.
Also entered in the race is Ambergris Caye, 2yo c, Deep Impact x Ave (Danehill Dancer, GB).

OK!

(from Netkeiba)
As you see, he's a small 2yo, weighing 430kg or so. 'Looks like a colt with a sharp speed.' (trainer) His final workout this Wednesday was not bad (6F on a woodchips course: 83.9-67.6-53.2-39.2-12.8).
Shown in the following video is Ave 2013 (filly by Victoire Pisa):

You're welcome.
Stella Starlight, 2yo f, Deep Impact x Noble Stella (Monsun, GER) won her debut (1600m turf) at Niigata some time ago:

#13, jockey: Keita Tosaki
'Traffic in the homestretch put us in a tough position for a while, and yet my horse showed guts to get through the narrow gap; once out in the lead, I still felt a good response from her, and she would handle a longer distance. Look forward to her races in the future.' (jockey: K Tosaki)

Have there been any updates on when Tosen Gale may be ready to debut?

Not really relevant to the discussion, but Tachyon or Uma, do you know of a youtube channel that has Japanese race replays? The last couple I have been using have stopped posting (or been shutdown for copyright infringement)

Amelie, Distorted Humor x Azeri, was entered in Kyoto R12 (dirt 1400m; allowance for fillies&mares with less than ¥10m prize money) today and finished third.

Tosen Gale's debut (with Yutaka Take) is postponed to next week because his workouts have been not good enough for it. It might be wise not to expect too much of him.

Thanks so much! Persistently was both a huge favorite and dear friend of mine, so curious how he pans out, good or bad!uma_nosuke wrote:Tosen Gale's debut (with Yutaka Take) is postponed to next week because his workouts have been not good enough for it. You're welcome. Actually, Tosen Gale was chosen as one of the 2yos at the top
of the list of Norther Farm by its training staff, and introduced as
'being running as a deer,' a description of his 'springy' body.
That said, it was also noted that he still lacked power in the hind quarter, which suggests
that he may be a late bloomer.
Incidentally, he is a stablemate to Amelie, and I'm a bit concerned with
a bad spell, a month or so, of weak form of their stable.
Here is a recent video of Persistently 2013, taken at Northern Farm Yearling.

I don't have any Youtube channel to watch our races because I use a JRA
replay-distribution service, JRA Racing Viewer, for a charge (with
prerace workouts for about $5 per month).
I you want free JRA racing replays, I recommend seeking them in the
JRA's homepage itself, although it is written only in Japanese.
<Some tips>:
1) First, fix the race to watch (which round of which date and racecourse?). In doing
so, you could consult the JRA's English page:
http://japanracing.jp/en/information/index.html
2) Open the page: http://www.jra.go.jp/
3) See the left side menu with various green icons like I (for information,
of course); among 8 of them, you should choose the podium icon レース
結果, numbered 1,2, and 3. Clicking it, you find yourself in the page
with a rectangular picture of several horses running on the right.
4) See the bottom of the page, and you'll find a calendar there.
5) First, have a look at the upper right corner in the calendar, and
you'll find the green 'year choice tag,' which looks like: 年選択 2014年. Then, pull down
the upside down triangle to choose the year of the race.
6) Second, choose the month of the race by selecting month: among
1月,2月, and so on to 12月.
7) Next to choose is the date of the race, which runs from 1 to 31 under the
month tab. You'll probably notice that there are entries only twice
a week, such as: 5東, 5京, 3福. This is because we have JRA
races twice, basically every Saturday and Sunday.
7) Next to choose is the racecourse:
東: Tokyo Racecourse
京: Kyoto Racecourse
阪: Hanshin Racecourse
中: Nakayama Racecourse
名: Chukyo Racecourse
新: Niigata Racecourse
福: Fukushima Racecourse
小: Kokura Racecourse
函: Hakodate Racecourse
札: Sapporo Racecourse
Also you can safely ignore the # put on the Kanji characters, such 5
or 4 in 5東, or 4京.
9) Clicking the racecourse, appears a page of full races in the racecourse on the
day, from 1R to 12R.
10) You can watch replays by clicking HIGH or LOW green icons. As for
races with no green icon attached, all you can do is to replay it in your
imagination.
Good luck!

Corrections to the tips:
If you follow a racehorse in JRA and want to see his/her race record,
the JBIS site might be more helpful in tracing them.
1)Open the JBIS English site: http://www.jbis.jp/
2) Find the horse using their search engine by typing the horse
name.
3) For example, putting 'Horse Name: Amelie' takes you to the page:
http://www.jbis.jp/horse/result/?sid=re ... ie&x=0&y=0
4) Select Amelie (JPN), and you will find her record by clicking
her 'Race Records' tab. The record page includes detailed information
on her racing career, except for the latest (i.e., yesterday).
5) Try to find the proper replay in the JRA homepage.
