Vesnina, a 2yo with a nice pedigree won a maiden at Newbury today at 6f. One would think she will stretch out to a mile at some point, looked pretty good today and she looked like she had a nice gallop out.

Zarshana, the half sister to Zarkava won the Grade 3 Prix Minevre today! She did it pretty impressively coming from the back to win nicely by a half length! They think she will mature nicely for next year and say she could be a G1 caliber horse!

It's a shame she was beat but she ran a great race in defeat. Never gave up. I still like her for the Arc, Sea The Stars lost a race once as well

Does anyone have info on ANY of Zarkava's foals? The 2011 STS I'm most curious about but it seems none of hers have hit the track yet. Unfortunately it looks like that STS x Zarkava foal will never race :(

Tall Ship won the Chichester Observer Stakes (a handicap) impressively today, drawing away to win by 7 lengths (horse who finished 2nd was another 8 ahead of 3rd)! That's no easy feat at Goodwood!

Tragic news. Vodka was a fabulous racemare, and to lose her Sea the Stars colt like that must be terribly painful for her connections.
