El Padrino's pinfire scars are very noticeable. Do you think that will turn off any potential breeders? Also, is it just the way the light is hitting the white stocking on his right rear leg, or does that leg look very lumpy? Bowed?
Yeah, El Padrino's legs are a mess. It explains his abbreviated career. But the people sending their mares to him aren't breeding to him because he's El Padrino, they're breeding to him because he's Verrazano's brother.

And maybe also because he's a decent son of the late Pulpit? :?:

There's no shortage of decent sons of Pulpit available, though. Besides the big two (Tapit and Sky Mesa) there's Parading, Stroll, Corinthian, and Ice Box.

18 starts, broke his maiden for 25K, one other win for 25K--pass, pass, pass.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I think he might have some more leg than A.P. Indy.

That picture makes him look like a pony.

I know very little, but Smiling Tiger's withers are bothering me for some reason.

There is something odd about the way he's put together...sort of like a poor cut-and-paste of different body parts from different horses. The way his neck is set on his shoulders just looks...ungainly?

I'm going to say the bad and then some good. His neck doesn't transition into body well. I think its a two fold problem, high withers and low neck placement. His head seems small for his body too. If I cover up from his withers forward, he doesn't look bad. Granted I am no conformation expert. Since I thought I should say two good things, he is a pretty color too. ;)

Thanks for the link to a new conformation photos of the Country Life stallions. I'm a fan of Friesan Fire and hope his babies turn into runners. He sure seems to be stamping them in his image.

Smiling Tiger has very prominent withers and what appears to be an ewe neck. Ewe neck is due to improper muscle development in the neck and, possibly in Tiger's case, his prominent withers could be one of the causes. No way to be 100% certain from just one photo.

I like the front half of Nathanial, but find his hindquarters to be a bit slight.

I'm just appreciating the blatantly photoshopped background.
It's like they didn't even try to cover that up. ;)
