Crown Queen (1/2 to Royal Delta) just won the Lake Placid but she really benefited by a poor ride (imo) by the jock on Xcellence. I believe that horse wold have won clear if taken to the outside.
Still, looks like a really good half sister to Delta.

The hole on the inside didn't open up right away but it did open and when she came through she still struggled to get by. She might have gave Crown Queen more of a fight had she gone to the outside but winning clear? Not sure about that. More impressive to me is how Crown Queen looked very beaten in the stretch and then easily went on by. Must run in the family as Royal Delta did the same as a 3 year old in the BC Distaff haha. I'll take Crown Queen out of this especially as she matures and the distances increase. You can tell she's still pretty green and I agree she's got talent. Thought I saw her switch back to her left lead and then back to her right a few jumps before the wire too.peeptoad wrote:Crown Queen (1/2 to Royal Delta) just won the Lake Placid but she really benefited by a poor ride (imo) by the jock on Xcellence. It was a nice win, too, since her dam just passed away. A bit of a tribute to mama, Delta Princess.

I realize the hole inside opened up; never said it didn't... the jock appeared to have a lot of horse coming off the turn and she was pinned down pretty tight on the rail. Maybe she wouldn't have won clear, but imo she finishes much stronger if the jock took her to the outside.Kay16 wrote:The hole on the inside didn't open up right away but it did open and when she came through she still struggled to get by.
