I think some trainers may have entered the turf races as unofficial MTO. I see Baffert put Pimpernel (x Xtra Heat) in a turf spring--I'm sure he's not sad that it came off.

It's hardly a surprise if a trainer withdraws a horse who he wanted to run on the grass, when that race has been taken off the grass.
It's not John's...or Ebby's...fault that Del Mar has a problem with its new turf course.

I don't really think that anyone would say it was their fault. It makes perfect sense to scratch her if it's off-the-turf. I get that...I wish that the mare had been able to get into the gate more often than she has. Maybe another grass race with the right conditions for her will get carded at Del Mar before this meet ends...if they get the course right.
