Sky Captain, "grandson" of Smarty via Anchors Away, tries for his second GS win in a row when he goes in the G3-CAN Seagram Cup Stakes at Woodbine on Saturday! SC floundered on the dirt tracks in Florida and New York, but has blossomed on the synthetic at Woodbine.

Looks like Run Smart One has changed hands.
Patrick Ashton now listed as owner/trainer
The horse is entered in a $7,500 claimer (Race 2) on 8/17 at Parx.
(This might be hard to watch)
I had a feeling Budhoo would not retire Run Smart One.
In a small stable, every horse is an asset that has at least some value.

I think PARX competition too tough for Run Smart One.
Next stop could be Charlestown, Mountaineer, Finger Lakes, Timonium of the Camptown Races.
I don't think he's a happy horse right now.

Since RSO hates Gulfstream, Mr B decided to sell him as Calder was closed. I tried the retirement, even gave him a couple of names but he thinks RSO still wants to RUN!! (how does he know). A few days later when I call he had already sold him!!! But he said he was going to Penn. So I don't know-funny I have been talking to Mr B. for almost two yrs I will never figure out trainers!!!!!!!/owners. Just be safe little RSO!!

Oh, I mentioned also making him a stable pony, but didn't take to that either

Nice try, Jane.
Where we see the courage and competitiveness of a hard-trying animal, these trainers who operate on a shoestring usually see dollar signs.
I hope Run Smart One doesn't get handed around to run for smaller and smaller purses at lesser tracks.

Just as I feared, Run Smart One is a very unhappy horse.
In the second at Parx, he was rank, tossing his head, not even trying.
Very hard to watch.

I can almost predict the future -- he will fail at Parx and wind up his career in cheap races at cheap tracks.

Not a good outlook. He deserves better.
