She was working after that start. She was entered in an Allowance Race at Remington on 8/21/13 but was scratched by the vet. I can't seem to find anything else.Barbaro06 wrote:I was also wondering, has anyone heard anything on Countess Curlin? was she retired? We haven't seen her since June of last year.

Thanks, I know she did poorly in her last start, I wonder if she had some sort of injury and was retired.Flanders wrote:She was working after that start. Also another note on Stopshoppingdebbie's win. She ran the mile in 1:34.2 carrying 123. Just as a comparison, Palace Malice won the Met Mile in 1:33.56 carrying 124. I'm sure the tracks play different, but it is still a really nice time, I love this filly.

Dyker Beach finished 2nd in R7 at Belmont after dueling down to the wire and getting nipped by a head. This is his eighth 2nd place finish in 18 starts.

La Grange broke her maiden yesterday by 3 lengths in the 100K Cinderella Stakes at Los Al. She's a 2 year old to boot! You don't see too many 2yo Curlins running, let alone SWs.

Bold Conquest (3rd dam is Jersey Girl) finished 2nd in his debut in R4 at Saratoga. The pace horse won, as has been the trend, but Bold Conquest is getting complimeted for his run today. According to Trakus, he also ran 22 more feet than the winner.

Blisstering Strike broke her maiden today in R4 at Penn. She's a 1/2 to G3W Hierro and mult. SW Cherokee Triangle.
Diversy Harbor was 4th in the G2 San Clemente H. She was coming strong on the far turn but just ran out of time. I think if she hadn't been placed so far back early in the race, she could have won.

Curlin babies had a severe case of seconditis today.
Curalina was 2nd in her debut today at Saratoga, beaten 1 1/4 lengths. Very green; bumped, wide, wrong lead, etc. Still ran a good race for all that.
Waynesborough was 2nd in an ALW at Parx, beaten nearly 5 lengths. Had 6 lengths on third but no match for the winner.
Lord of the Realm was 2nd in a CLM at Fort Erie. Was nailed in the final strides by a nose.
Dyker Beach was 2nd in a Str ALW at Saratoga, beaten by a neck. She ran hard but ran out of time.

All but Air Squadron who took the 8th at Ellis by a neck.
Curalina looked very good, if she would have only switched her lead at the end she may have caught the winner. When she matures a bit, she will be a tough filly. And I am only slightly biased, haha
