I'd been a little underwhelmed by Curlin's offspring until this last year; Palace Malice and Ride On Curlin give me hope that Jess's Dream might be a decent racehorse.
I don't believe Bernardini's fillies have been great on the track...yet...although they have been bringing big bucks at the auctions. We can be pretty sure that Rachel's daughter is not headed for an auction, unless Barbara suddenly exits the breeding business. The jury is out on whether the A.P. Indy stallion will turn out to be a good broodmare sire.
I wish Rachel's last breeding had been to Tapit (if the nick is good)...his fillies are fabulous, and they are clearly prized as broodmares. I mean, has anyone counted how many stakes-winning daughters of Tapit were scooped up by the Japanese?
But alas I personally think just because a horse wins the Derby, he doesn't HAVE to go for the whole Triple. Or a horse could skip the Derby in favour of the very rich and much shorter Preakness etc.
