Wonderstruck (Sea The Stars x Bordighera (USA) (Alysheba (USA)), half to George Washington (Phoenix, National, Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and 2,000 Guineas) and Grandera (Prince of Wales's, Irish Champion Stakes and Singapore Cup) is making her 2nd start today at Leicester, 4:55 British time. She was a very promising 3rd first out.
Also, her silks look familiar but I can't place why, any ideas?

The Jacksons own Bordighera and bred George Washington. Obviously, they bred Wonderstruck, as well.carole wrote:Well I know they belong to Barbaro but why the heck is an Irish horse wearing them?mariasmon wrote:You're joking, I assume?carole wrote:Also, her silks look familiar but I can't place why, any ideas?

Ah I see! Didn't know that! I figured the mare could be owned by them seeing she is American but I had no clue they bred George Washington, did they sell him at a sale or did Coolmore buy shares in him?mariasmon wrote:The Jacksons own Bordighera and bred George Washington. According to Racing Post Online, he was the most expensive yearling sold at auction in 2012.second_glance wrote:The world's most expensive yearling (says HRTV) -- Hydrogen (Galileo x Funsie) -- debuts next week at Newmarket.
Anyway, he was only 6th (of 9 runners). The race was won by the Sea the Stars filly WONDERSTRUCK, a half-sister to the great George Washington.
