Serene Melody was 4th, missed third by a nose, and was coming according to the chart. Missed the winner by less than 2. She just seems to be coming up a bit short- but she is in the fight.

I watched that race, and her run was more impressive than it sounds. She got shuffled all the way to last as the field came into the stretch, and she had to find a hole between horses...and when she did, she really kicked into another gear. Looks good for her next race...if her rider can just give her a clean run.

She needs just a bit of luck- and all the pieces will go together. She does seem to enjoy the turf- perhaps a bit of the Rahy coming out in her? A bit more distance would not be a problem as well. Momma seemed to like the 1 1/8.

''This picture was taken last July. Her race record was nothing special at that time and her debut (at age of 3 yrs and 4 months) was relatively late. In some races, she finished 10th or worth though she was the favorite. We are very surprised by her great success and growth since last summer!''

Wild Flapper(JPN) finished 3rd in the G3 Heian Stakes 1900m dirt at Kyoto on May 24th.
She was the only female in the 16 horses field.

Stormberg was third, had a nightmare trip. Was blocked behind a wall of horses most of the way- you could tell he wanted to go, but no room. Jock tried to slip on the rail coming into the lane, hole closes. Jock had to wheel him out about 6 wide , and made a run, but too much ground to make up. Should do much better next time out, with a cleaner trip.

Noble Mission (GB) (full to Frankel) is going for his first G1 win in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on Sunday.

He won. Got really tired at the end. Nice weekend for Juddmonte continues. Second SW for Kind this weekend.

The super talented Deceptive Vision (o/o Canadian champion and Oaks winner Eye of the Sphynx), is entered in a strong Nassau (G2) R8 at Woodbine. Deceptive Vision is a full sister to MSW Hotep and Queens Plate winner Eye of the Leopard. She was Sam-Son's Oaks filly last year, but got sidelined one year with an injury, but has come back running.

Queens Plate hopeful Asserting Bear, half brother to Canadian champ Inish Glora, is in the Marine Stakes against Matador and Ami's Holiday today, R5 at Woodbine.
