Silver Hawk, the sire of 71 black type winners and damsire of 82 black type winners, stood his entire career at Airdrie Stud. He sired for example Epsom Derby winner Benny The Dip or Japan champion Grass Wonder, he is damsire of King George winner Nathaniel.
He was bred by Robin Scully's Clovelly Farm and purchased by Buckram Oaks Farm for 77.000$ at Fasig-Tipton yearling sale in1980. He won 3 races and ran second in the Irish Derby and third in the Epsom Derby.
