Watch for the three-year-old Favorite Tale (no relation to Smarty) but may be the best three-year-old to come out of Philly Park since Smarty.
Three-for-three with great times and a possible Preakness entrant.
He has to show he can do two turns next.

Some Smarties to watch on Saturday.
Old Time Hockey makes his 3rd start of the year in the Tampa Turf Classic (8.5F, $75K, R9). He drew the post position and is 2nd choice on the ML.

Mark Casse brought both of his Smarty fillies to Keeneland.
3yo Creative Spirit will try to break her maiden in her 3rd start (finished 2nd in both previous efforts). Stew Elliott will ride. R6
4yo Canny Nanny, winner of 3 of her last 4 starts, will try going a distance (1 3/16) in a turf allowance. R9
And Smarty's granddaughter Artemis takes another shot at a G1 -- this time in the Santa Anita Oaks.

Run Smart One entered 4/18 -- $6,250 claimer at Calder -- one mile and 70.
He is in pretty deep with this tougher field -- I think a scratch might be in order here.

Scratch was a good move.
I don't think Run Smart One could have placed in this field.
Quartermain (who is often competitive with Run Smart One) was not even in contact with this field.
Wait for a better spot.

Old Time Hockey is entered in the G2 Elkhorn @ KEE on Friday. Big field, and he drew PP1. But it's 12F on turf so he should be able to cope.

Philly Sunday Inquirer front page article on Smarty's 10th anniversary and sidebar on Stewart Elliott.
Pretty well done -- nothing that new.
Small mention of Res Judicata as one of Smarty's better current runners.
John Servis was interviewed as was Pat Chapman.
Servis was honest and said Smarty was a productive regional sire.
He said Smarty babies try hard on any surface.
Pat Chapman said he needs better mares to shine;
(I'm sure it's available on the phillycom website)
