John Gosden on Kingman: "We were thrilled with the way he picked up. He has the highest cruising speed of any horse I've ever trained."
'Impressive' is an understatement! That horse rocketed off when James Doyle pushed the button on him! I hate to make comparisons, but that win was very reminiscent of Frankel in that same race only 3 years ago!

Sidney's Candy's little brother takes it after setting swift fractions. The connections must think an awful lot of him because they mentioned a possible tilt at Royal Ascot.

Byron King of the DRF writes of Saturday's Illinois Derby:
Class Leader, a half-brother to multiple Grade 1 winner Student Council by Smart Strike, is one of the colts considered likely. After a sixth when sprinting in his debut, he won a pair of routes at Fair Grounds going a mile and 70 yards. He was scheduled for a maintenance half-mile breeze Tuesday at Churchill Downs, trainer Neil Howard said.

His jockey James Winks commented;
“I’ve praised him and I’m glad he’s been able to come here today and get himself out of trouble, winning a Group Three race and putting some good horses away.
“I reckon in the spring you might see him in the Caulfield Cup(G1).” 8-)
