Many of the active mares may belong to people who have no breeding farms or a working arrangement with a farm. So, keeping broodmares just doesn't make sense for them.
I am surprised to see a good two-year-old like She's A Tiger, who, I presume, is not close to being ready to retire. Also surprised to see Mizdirection, because I thought Jim Rome loved that mare...unless she was going to retire after the BC, anyway.

If She's a Tiger wins at the BC, she's going to be worth a lot. She's already a G1 winner. They can always pull her from the sale if she doesn't run well. The strategy certainly worked with Awesome Feather.

Article says they are looking for more high profile entries and will update the catalog as that happens.

"We have a truly superb catalogue for the November sale and it would be impossible to single out individuals," said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning in a release. "Buyers will choose from 24 grade I winners or producers and 59 graded stakes winners or producers in a single session over several hours, not days."

Bluewater posted on Facebook that they had 2 additions, a G1W i/f to Tapit and a 2013 GS producer by A.P. Indy & i/f to Giant's Causeway. I suspect it's Champagne d'Oro and Danceinthesunlight (dam of Moreno).

Golden Artemis is a 7-year-old stakes-placed winning Malibu Moon mare who will sell in foal to Artie Schiller, meaning that she is carrying a full sibling to My Conquestadory.

Ok, so it's not just me that is surprised to see who is in the catalogue - like Groupie Doll and Mizdirection. I know it's a business, but man I'd have a hard time selling any horse like these. It would physically hurt. Probably why I'm only a fan and not an owner. I'd drive my hubby crazy b/c I'd keep every horse that came through my door lol!

I hope they all go to good homes.
