I've never heard of any issues with Empire Maker. I think the stallion you're thinking of is War Emblem...

That was a powerful typhoon that went through central and north-east of Japan. There were floods and mudslides especially in Kansai area (West). All JRA races had to be cancelled today. Also, some training facilites at the Ritto Training Center had to be closed due to the heavy rain. But the typhoon is already leaving the country now and JRA tracks will be open tomorrow. I believe that horses and horseracing communities were okay at least.

Well, Melhor Ainda's 4yo daughter Chatterati (by Street Cry) was bred to Teofilo I think. None of Melhor's offspring have raced.

* I'm pleased to see Dubawi getting such a nice book of mares. I loved Dubai Millennium, and it's tragic that we lost him so young. With Dubawi's success at stud, it looks like DM's bloodline will continue.

She has been in Europe since 2010, I can't see them bringing her back now... they clearly have a preference for European stallions. Then again maybe having a barren year is a good chance to ship her back.

Thanks, I had caught that in your original post. I hope she doesn't turn out to be a dud as a broodmare, I don't think any of her foals have started. Her first was Pillow Book, a 5yo by Maria's Mon. She had her first foal this year, and bred back to Discreet Cat? I am just bummed, I hope the 3yo by Street Cry does something. Or the 2yo by Empire Maker.

Darley sold Pillow Book. She's now owned by Bear Stables Ltd and was bred to Kentucky Bear. I want to say the Empire Maker was sold too.
