Codex (1977) won the 1980 Santa Anita Derby ... Preakness and Hollywood Derby.
Trivia: Pedigreequery
At age 17, Pat Valenzuela became the youngest jockey to win the Santa Anita Derby when he rode Codex to victory in the 1980 race.
Died in Florida on August 20, 1984, after being discovered paralyzed. He sired three foal crops, 10 stakes winners (9%).
