The Kentucky foals have only been on grass since the end of last week. And we're supposed to get a little more snow tomorrow.RuffiantoRags wrote:Those Kentucky babies are so lucky to be running around on grass. The NY breds have been dealing with deep snow since they were born.

We had a mare pregnant with twins and we had the vet try to terminate one of the twins over the summer. Well the vet couldn't find the other twin so we assumed the twin was absorbed. Had that mare ultrasounded again and found out the foal was upside down and backwards. We sent her to the vet clinic when her foaling date got close so the vet could foal her out. Well she foaled out twin healthy fillies last night! I'll post pictures when she comes back next week.

Awww- that is rare and would be a treat to see- sounds like it went well. Congrats!Summer Bird wrote:We had a mare pregnant with twins and we had the vet try to terminate one of the twins over the summer. Do we know of any twins making it to the track- either one or both?

Thanks! She's the college's mare and we are happy that the foaling went well. It will be interesting when we sell them in our Standardbred yearling sale. I believe I have heard of twins making it to the track by the way.serenassong wrote:Awww- that is rare and would be a treat to see- sounds like it went well.
