Yes, that is what it means. There is a special FB page, "Bring Centerfold Kid Home" https://www.facebook.com/groups/645275088849900/ O'Brien is one of three administrators of this page. It is a private group but with 490 members.

Has anyone heard more about the two horses missing from Remember Me Rescue? Norway and Trophy Case? http://www.teamkeen.com/missingrmrhorses.html As you see, there is nothing new on the website.

Last I heard, no news on Norway or Trophy Case. Not good, but then again, once in a blue moon vanished horses have resurfaced many, many months later. And so I keep hoping that they may yet be found.

Cymple Rhythm, now known as Della, had a very gentle bath this morning. She appeared to enjoy it.

I get nauseous when I think that someone was putting a saddle on that frail creature and actually adding the weight of a rider to a frame that looks like it would break if you breathed hard on her.
But mainly, I really, really want to beat the crap out of that owner.

Aside from making her feel better, it undoubtedly it reminded her of the distant past when things were wonderful and she was a cherished filly. We are so glad, girl, that you are finally, at long last, cherished again.

According to this story Golden Gate has a database for retired TB that rescues can access.

"...Morey said trainers and owners at Golden Gate Fields now know they are being watched, and can’t just give their thoroughbreds away to just anyone. “There are people that will bring their children, say the horse is for their kids, and they are just fishing for horses,” she said.

Since late April, Morey has registered 84 horses leaving the track. She lists them all on a database that adoption groups can access, and many horses end up in new homes. “I hope that over the next year we will be involved with every single horse,” she said..."http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2013/1 ... te-fields/

Anyone seen the database? Used it?

It's a good thought, but they need to get all the other California tracks on the same program. Because with just GG doing it, the owners just ship the horse to Los Alamitos or some other track that doesn't have such restrictions, and the horse quietly vanishes from there.

Cymple Rhythm (now Della) two weeks on. This never ceases to astound me -- what some food and care and love can do.

She is already looking so much better! She has the sweetest face and the kindest, softest eyes I think I've ever seen. What I'd give to be with her all day and just stuff her with treats.... :D So relieved she is in loving hands now. Life will be so much better from now on, darling Della!

Oh my, her eye is just sparkling now, though it caught my attention in the first post about her! So glad she's doing well now!

Very many horses at the Lancaster horse auction today, and several in terrible shape.

NY-bred Heavenly Blaze (2006; Judge T C) finished his career with a 3rd in the Hollie Hughes Stakes at AQU in Feb. 2011. In May 2012, this Youtube video was posted of him in training as a hunter prospect:

It's unclear, right now, what happened after that. But he showed up at New Holland yesterday,

where he sold for $300. Fortunately, some rescue folks figured out who he was before he left the property and started tracking down people in his past. A devastated former owner immediately went to work to get him back, and by last night he was already on his way back to NY.

On the positive side, Auction Horses Rescue (Megan Gaynes) is working with authorities and has tentatively placed all six of the Yucca Valley horses into safe homes. See updates on Yucca horses situation at top of the AHR website.

For details on these horses, see AHR website https://www.facebook.com/auctionhorses?fref=ts
towards the bottom, each with the heading "NEEDS URGENT RESCUE".
