I sure wish we could visit...
We used to drive by often when I had my dr appointments in Lexington.. it's not really "on the way", but my mom made sure we took detours to brighten my days, past all and every horse farm she could think of. Cancer sucks. Horses rock.
When we pulled over on the side of Versailles Rd, due to my nausea so I could step out and get some fresh air/vomit off the side of the road, it was often okay and my mom used it as an excuse to take a good look over Calumet, however, the last time we stopped nearby (pretty close to the gate), a guy, assumingly someone who worked there, came and asked us to leave (understandably so).
Calumet is a huge area, beautiful and wellkept (at least around the area you can see passing by on Versailles), it really is a shame they don't take visitors unless you want to view a stallion.
I'm lucky enough to have toured calumet as a fan. It was in 2014 and I went on a horse farm tour through the Kentucky horse park. I just happened to be lucky that our tour guide that day knew connections at calumet and got us in

Bellavia only covered mares in the US in 2022 at Pleasant Acres in Florida. Like Akitaperson said, he was advertised to go to that farm in California but he didn't cover mares there. He has an export(they don't show years) but I have been unable to find any information on where he went at this point.

Where would he go if there's been no update country wise? Cause places Luke Korea and Japan update there sites, even saudia Arabia to a degree updates.

Anywhere that wanted to buy him. He was just a Maiden winner though, is that going to generate articles or anything? My guess is because of lack of accomplishment on the track he went to, like... Caribbean or Central America. But again I have no clue. I made a post for him in Whatever Happened To so can look for him in the future.

Thanks!

He was talented, but unsound…and worst of all, is by Honor Code, so clearly he had no chance of getting support either in FL or CA….and apparently that’s how it played out

Sounds like he would've made a decent gelding rather then a stallion

I think he got the chance because he did look promising in his first 2 starts at 2 but then he was injured and didn't race for almost 2 years. He clearly wasn't the same when he came back for his only start at 4. Also because his dam is a 1/2 to Indian Miss (dam of Mitole and Hot Rod Charlie). But even in a regional market no one wanted to use him. The thing that I find unfathomable is on Bloodhorse they show his 2023 stud fee was supposed to be 12.5k. And I'm laughing as I'm typing that. He stood for 2.5k in Florida in 2022 and only got 8 mares, how they thought 5x would get mares is beyond me.
