A very green Barnes tried everything to lose the 7th at Churchill, but it looks like he got his nose in front finally.
D. Wayne's Innovator almost won it from the front. And I loved the shot of the two old friends (Baffert & Lukas) waiting for the decision together.

I can't believe he actually won that. Did he even change to the correct lead? Baffert said he (the horse) was acting like a stallion in the paddock, yelling at everyone.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 5:00 pm A very green Barnes tried everything to lose this race, but it looks like he got his nose in front finally.

Well, he definitely learned a lot more there than he wouldve being sent to the front in a 5 horse California maiden.
Really impressive, and good that he can get to the wire first in a messy race at Churchill Downs - could be handy at some point in the future!

AP Pharoah account has paddock footage. Nice looking colts.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 5:01 pmI can't believe he actually won that. Did he even change to the correct lead? Cool that a Dixiana bred might be a serious Oaks contender for next year. Book’em, a daughter of Tiz the Law won the 3rd at Churchill today by about 10 lengths and running the mile in 1:34.34. Has won 3 in a row and her only defeat was due to breaking poorly in her debut.

Brad Cox trained Patch Adams came close to breaking the track record in a 7f MSW at Churchill.

Rated by Merit completed his sweep of the FL Sire Series by winning the third leg, the In Reality, today by 6L. He is undefeated (4 for 4). I’m looking forward to seeing how he does in open stakes company.Squeaky wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 9:55 am Good story about Rated by Merit a fast FL-bred son of one of my faves from the past Battalion Runner owned by Vintage Viola who is supporting the stallion with his own mares. https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/w ... contender/

Keep an eye on this HAP baby who just broke his maiden at Meydan. His debut came on the all-weather track in England, where he ran very well to be 2nd at 7F. This was his first try on dirt, and was wide all the way
This was 1600 meters, so almost a mile
He’s gorgeous….you can see where he got his name
His dam, Ruby Love by Scat Daddy, won the Chilean TC

Heart was even more impressive than at first glance. My Euro friend on another board said that Heart ran the mile in 1:37.96, which is “excellent” time on that track, especially for 2 year olds. He also finished in 24 seconds, which is incredibly encouraging

Is Heart of Honor black? He sure looks like it, although he may officially be dark brown/bay.

Tenma wins the Starlet over Look Forward. They left the rest behind them. The blinkers off experiment on Nooni didn't work, rank, fighting jock, didn't want to settle back there.

Tenma has a nice pedigree Nyquist out of a Tapit daughter who is out of a full sister to Misty For Me/Ballydoyle.
