His breeder is brilliant, that pedigree can be anything at any distance, and to my eye, from every angle, very impressive.

Last race I saw with him was here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDopOKpChTI

I really appreciate the breeding programs there and in other jurisdictions, showcasing fitness at every furlong
no matter the distance of a race. As a group it seems like more can finish after 6 furlongs with out laboring
between 6f - 8f and showing a turn of foot at the finish line.

I watch North American runners today that carry their speed a distance of ground and few are truly elite (by my standards), w/out lasix (and other coctails, we don't know because that info is hidden from bettors) but we seem to have a lot of runners who are fast early and slow late, or slow early and fast late, and are lucky to win at 8.5 and thats their limit. We have a whole TC prep season where we'll get to see plenty of these.....
https://en.netkeiba.com/db/horse/2022100090/ when he is entered it will show

on the forum there, which is only in Japanese, they think he is pointing to the Habotan Sho(this was ran on December 2nd last year, maybe its November 30th this year?). Then if he does well, go to the Hopeful around Christmas.

Yes, he is slated to run in the Habotan Sho (Alw 1 win) Nov 30th, going the same distance and racecourse as his debut race.
I think that he has a neat pedigree, with his dam being a 1/2 to the Japanese Derby winner Deep Sky(JPN)(Agnes Tachyon), to get the classic distance.
And, sired by the versatile stallion Just a Way(JPN)(Heart's Cry), he may also switch to the dirt at some point, if his connections want to try it.
Good luck to him!

Stylish Mile Championship winner Soul Rush came out of the race in good order.
He will be pointed to the G1 Hong Kong Mile next! :D

Attention American racing fans. FOX sports will be airing the Japan cup at 1:00 am EST Sunday morning.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Natural Rise(JPN), 2022C. Kizuna(JPN) x Lady Madonna(JPN) by Distorted Humor(USA), won the Cattleya Stakes 1600m dirt at Tokyo to remain unbeaten 2 for 2 on Nov 23rd 2024.
The Cattleya Sho is the first leg of the Japan Road to the Kentucky Derby.

Weather is beautifully fine at Tokyo this morning :D
Going will be very quick (as usual) and the Japan Cup winner is expected to cover 2400m in around 2:23.

Here below are the current ''Win odds'' and '' Place (=Show in US term) odds'' as of this morning.

I would say that the current odds are about fair.
But I personally feel that the favorite Do Deuce is bit overvalued.
He is a wonder horse with a superb turn of foot when he is in his game, but he lacks in the consistency a bit and I don't think his best distance is 2400m either. From the barrier #3, he may shuffle back to rear after the start and wait for until the final straight before moving into top gear. So, If the pace is set up too slow, his racing style can become vulnerable.
The 2nd favorite Cervinia loves the similar tactics as Do Deuce and is likely to race below the mid pack.
The 3trd favorite Justin Palace is a handy horse and may race more forwardly the two favorites.
It's really hard to predict how Auguste Rodin and Goliath will perform on a much quicker turf than in Europe.
Both may race upfront to spring upsets as the slow pace is expected with no real speed from local runners this year.
My sentimental favorite Stars on Earth drew extreme outside (ouch!) but she is a true class.
I hope Durezza will regain his Kikuka Sho form here and I wonder if he sets the pace today.

I do think that this is a wide-open race and most runners have the shot.
Good luck!

I am really interested to see how Auguste Rodin fares here. He hasn't been the most consistent horse and likes to throw in a clunker sometimes. They've been pointing to this for months, so I'm sure he's as ready as he can be. Hopefully he's in a good mood today.

It's very cool that they are going to have a retirement ceremony for Auguste Rodin. What a full-circle moment being the first foreign-trained horse so honored, in the place where his his life technically began.
