I'll take any inside look into Ballydoyle that I can get, and tbh the production value is pretty good. Here's hoping he actually delivers on the big day, it's a big gamble and they're giving it plenty of hype.

The real odds in the JRA's pari-mutuel on the race day will be very much different from those projected odds shown in Netkeiba.com.
At this point, I would just imagine that Goliath will be around the 5th favorite (10/1) of the public and Shin Emperor will be around the 9th favorite (25/1), while I agree with Netkeiba's projection that either Do Deuce or Cervinia will be sent off as the favorite.
The Japan Cup this year will be a wonderful version attracting ten G1 winners!

Will Charyn be the first foreign-trained horse to win the Mile Champion Ship?
The classy Dark Angel colt is being sent off as one of the favorites along with Brede Weg, Soul Rush and Namur.
I personally like the 2023 QE2 Cup winner Brede Weg who was very impressive last time out, but she drew inside in her first mile test.
Namur must be ready to defend her title.
Soul Rush seeks for his first G1 victory from an ideal post for the closer.

Soul Rush(JPN), 2018H. Rulership(JPN) x Eternal Bouquet(JPN) by Manhattan Cafe(JPN), captured his much-awaited first G1 victory impressively in the Mile Championship 1600m turf at Kyoto under Taisei Danno beating strong rivals that included European champion miler Charyn(IRE) on Nov 17th 2024.

And here’s winning jockey Danno Taisei's jockey camera on Soul Rush.

He had an ideal trip while blocking favorite Brede Weg toward inside.
Great ride!
And Charyn was unlucky.

Great ride!
And Charyn was unlucky.
Charyn missed his break and was forced to race behind in
third from the rear. After shifting far out entering the straight, the four-year-old chased the frontrunners
with the second fastest stretch speed but had too much ground to make up and finished a neck behind the
race favorite in fifth.
“He ran a very good race but he was slow coming out of the gate so the first furlong cost him in the end—
you get behind and wide around whole the field. After the start he wasn’t able to secure a good position
and afterwards, it was always going to be hard work for him—he finished strong, so I thought the horse
performed very well—in defeat he proved himself to be very good horse. We have to accept the results
although it is disappointing because we came here to win. But it has been a fantastic year for this horse to
win three mile G1 races in Europe and we wanted to finish with another win here but it did not happen. It
still was a very good race—in my opinion, just the start cost him,” commented trainer Roger Varian.
“He couldn’t make a good jump at the start and had to race behind, but despite the disadvantages, he gave
a terrific effort at the straight,” added jockey Ryan Moore.

Anyone have any news on STYLUS METHOD (JPN) where racing, etc.?
His breeder is brilliant, that pedigree can be anything at any distance, and to my eye, from every angle, very impressive.
Last race I saw with him was here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDopOKpChTI
I really appreciate the breeding programs there and in other jurisdictions, showcasing fitness at every furlong
no matter the distance of a race. As a group it seems like more can finish after 6 furlongs with out laboring
between 6f - 8f and showing a turn of foot at the finish line.
I watch North American runners today that carry their speed a distance of ground and few are truly elite (by my standards), w/out lasix (and other coctails, we don't know because that info is hidden from bettors) but we seem to have a lot of runners who are fast early and slow late, or slow early and fast late, and are lucky to win at 8.5 and thats their limit. We have a whole TC prep season where we'll get to see plenty of these.....
