I couldn't see where Liberty Island finished.
I think she was either 12th or 13th. Very unlike her. Happy to see Do Deuce and Yutaka Take win though. And proud of ol' outmatched Ho O Biscuits!
Yeah Ho O Biscuits ran great!
And I was stunned by the runner-up Tastiera, too!
His 2023 Japanese Derby was no fluke!

ho o biscuits was amazing!!! and a great run from tastiera too but i was SO HAPPY for yutaka take!!! it might just be me but it seems like christophe lemaire gets a lot of the really top-tier horses now so it's really nice to see yutaka take on the winner's podium for one of the big races.

as graham pavey says on twitter, "schooling them since 1987"

Do Deuce was impressive; it's remarkable that he has landed a grade I each year that he has raced.

Disappointing run from Liberty Island though; I hope she is all right.

Do Deuce was definitely a superb winner and his jockey was not only very enthusiastic but also emotional.
''Yay, finally, I was able to let him run. He is the best horse in the WORLD. Let me repeat, he is the best in the WORLD when he is in his game!! He won G1s in four consecutive years taking out a 2000m G1 today for the first time. Yeah, he is truly a super horse!!''
And we know that Yutaka, a discreet person, rarely explodes with joy in such a manner. ;)

Do Deuce will be pointed to the Japan Cup next and possibly to the Arima Kinen for his swansong.
I have no doubt the son of Heart's Cry will be a very popular and high-priced stallion at Shadai Stallion Station next year!! :D
His turn of foot is exceptional.

I always like Alan Porter's column on bloodhorse.
This time he has had a wonderful write-up about Do Deuce!!!
Interesting read indeed.
Thank you, Mr Alan Porter!

''Do Deuce Encapsulates the Rise of Japanese Breeding''
https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... e-breeding
The rise of Japanese breeding to the very pinnacle of international bloodstock—illustrated by the position of Equinox as head of the World Best Racehorse Rankings for 2023—has primarily been facilitated by two factors. One well documented was the importation of Halo's son Sunday Silence. The other, less dramatic but no less important, has been the relentless acquisition of top-class racemares. Most recently, those two dynamics are apparent in the pedigree of Do Deuce, who produced a thrilling display to capture the Autumn Tenno Sho (Emperor's Cup).

OMG!!!!!
I was very surprised!

Hayayakko(JPN), 2016 white horse. King Kamehameha(JPN) x Marshmallow(JPN) by Kurofune(USA), won the G2 Copa Republica Argentina 2500m turf handicap at Tokyo off odds 34/1, carrying the heaviest weight and flying home from dead-last under Yutaka Yoshida on Nov 3rd 2024.
That's his 3rd graded success and first G2.
His owner Makoto Kaneko was obviously very delighted.
Will the 8yo be the first white thoroughbred to contest either the Japan Cup or the Arima Kinen, the biggest races in Japan?

HAYAYAKKO is the first 8YO+ horse to win the flat graded stakes since Makahiki as an 8YO took the Kyoto Daishoten (GII) in 2021.

Mr Makoto Kaneko is their owner. Congratulations to all the connections 👏🎉💐!

Trainer Sakae Kunieda commented; ''Hayayakko came out of the race in fine order. I'm considering the Arima Kinen for his next target. I will consult with his owner Makoto Kaneko.''

By the way, Japanese fans' opinions are divided as to whether he will be a stallion.
I suspect that he will be. But it's up to his owner.
Makoto Kaneko raced the Japanese Derby winner Makahiki until he was nine before his retirement to stud.

It sounds like she was okay.
I guess that she was over-weighted after a layoff.
She has accepted an invitation for the G1 Hong Kong Cup in December.

This is definitely great news!!! :D
It's going to be the first time a foreign-trained horse runs in the JRA G1 races for 2yos.

I know that Stellenbosch (Oka Sho winner) goes to either the Cup or the Vase and Lugal (Sprinters Stakes winner) to the Sprint at this point.
We will see a clearer picture a bit later.
