Shades of Snap's Iroquois win - he gets challenged and passed by a classy European horse but comes back at the very end. Huge heart on this guy, a true champion. Beautifully ridden as well.

Such a brave warrior was passed in deep stretch by Galvin and High Definition but came back between horses to win.

Yeah, it's not typical. All the 3yo colt trotters have been rather inconsistent this year though. T C I had some off performances early in the year but rounded back into form late and just barely missed the Breeders Crown win to another uneven horse Sig Sauer. The 3yo pacing colts have been a lot better and I'm really looking forward to that final tonight.

WOW Twin B Joe Fresh won the Breeders Crown mare's pace with ease, securing her Horse of the Year for sure. Her 10th win on the year. Hopefully she'll race in the FanDuel FFA pace next month.

5 y/o Carloun (Kingman × Qaws) won the William H. Allison S. (G1) at Great Meadow over 6 y/o Welshman (Flintshire × Unforgiving) and 6 y/o Too Friendly (Camelot × Chatline). The race is 2 1/8 miles over hurdles. Carloun’s final time was 4:03.60.

Meanwhile, 15 y/o Mystic Strike (Smart Strike × Mystic Rhythms) won the International Gold Cup Timber S. over 7 y/o Druid’s Altar (Mastercraftsman × Shell Garland) and 9 y/o Anticipating (Overanalyze × Confined). The timber race is 3 1/2 miles and Mystic Strike’s final time was 8:19.60. These three were the only entrants. Technically, Anticipating is a DNF as he ran off course and was pulled up.

Equibase is wrong (as they too often are when it comes to jumps racing). The International Gold Cup races were held at Glenwood Park in Middleburg this year because the condition of Great Meadow's course was deemed too poor to race on. Unfortunately there's been so little rain that the ground at Glenwood came up hard; 3 horses were scratched from the International Gold Cup itself due to the ground.

Southwind Amazon has officially TIED the all-time USTA wins record!!! He got #137 Tuesday night at Northfield Park.

HE DID IT! Southwind Amazon is the winningest harness horse in United States Trotting Association history!!!! *Other Standardbreds in the early 1900s have won more but they predate the USTA and so don't have official documentation in the USTA Pathway system.
The mighty Amazon won race 7, a NW5000L4, at Northfield Tuesday night at odds of 7-1 for his 138th victory in 373 lifetime starts. Time of the mile was 1:54.0.

3yo trotting colt Amazing Catch, became the highest-priced Standardbred ever sold at public auction when he went for $1.85 million at the Harrisburg Mixed Sale today. The colt has won this year's Canadian Trotting Classic and was 2nd or 3rd in the Hambletonian, Kentucky Futurity and Breeders Crown, among others. He was purchased by Greg Luther and will stay with his trainer Ake Svanstedt to race on at 4.

$1.55 million for then-4yo trotting mare Atlanta (the previous season's champion 3yo trotting filly and Horse of the Year) in an online sale at onGait.com back in February 2019. Highest price in an in-person auction was $1.1 million for 2yo champion trotting filly Cameron Hall at the 2001 Tattersalls (not the one in Britain, there was a Standardbred sales company of the same name) December Mixed Sale. Both Atlanta and Cameron Hall got additional end-of-the-year championships after their sales.
Amazing Catch is unlikely to win a year-end championship (that will likely go to Karl or Sig Sauer) but some of his value is as a stallion, being a son of Walner who has the highest stud fee in the sport ($50k) and from a female family of good stallions.

I see that tickets for the Iroquois in Nashville are on sale. I want to go and it's only 2 hours away from me.

To anyone that has been, or has been to similar steeplechase events, what ticket do you recommend I buy?

Can you bring your own cameras? I'd like to be able to take some pictures of the horses (I have a longer lens).
