Not bad for his first Coolmore conceived crop. I know Coolmore paid an eye watering sum for him, but he’s already made good on the gamble.

Lately Repoles been running his top horses more, bringing back horses instead of rushing them off to stud. Him running Crupi as much as he has when that horse is just getting better and there’s a 90% chance he comes back at 5. Him buying Nest for 6 Million like he said he would 4 months earlier and actually tried bringing her back, you know it’s not just a case of saying he would or not given they posted videos of her working and there was a genuine injury. Not to mention there’s a very good chance he could have just up and retired Mindframe because no doubt he would get a stud deal the way the market has been but he’s also bringing him back. He’s kept his word about his horses if it’s been possible.

Also, Fierceness isn’t just some high dollar horse to him clearly if you hear the way he talks about that horse or just looks at him, it’s more then a top owners love for a top horse and granted the history of the pedigree and his dams sides names and being a 3rd generation homebred there’s a lot of sentimental stuff there to.

And given they discussed Breeding rights when he was a 2 year old and about racing him on at 4 with Coolmore having half the rights, it’s a LOT like the situation with Maximum Security when they bought into him and he ran all of 2020. And the wests aren’t exactly shy about shipping a horse off the stud anywhere.

It’s probably a 50/50 chance he retires on Sunday if he loses, 95% chance if he wins. If he does win and they keep him around at 4 he will be a great horse granted his last 2 races he’s put it together.
It’s Official. Fierceness is running as a 4 year old.

Are they retiring him? I feel like he could run another year. Why breed to him when you can go to his sire!!!

Of the horses that I thought they would keep in training, he was one of them. He just wasnt great this season, and to me seemed like he hadn’t done enough on the track to warrant a spot at stud. But I guess the Dubawi and Minding of it all overrides an underwhelming 3 year old campaign.

That, or he got injured last week.

Looking forward to him covering 225 mares in 2025 and then standing in Turkey by 2029

Per Brook Smith on Steve Byk’s show today, Sierra Leone is currently at Ashford. Sounds like he will get turned out and get a medical once over before a decision is made. It was a bit wishy washy, but it really doesn’t sound like he is going to race on.

Such a confusing week! Love Coolmore!

Seize the greys retirement is official. I'm sad that part of his career is over. Seize the Grey has given me some amazing thrills. But I'm thrilled he's retiring sound. I'm also happy mrh will continue to maintain an interest in him through his stud career and I'm excited to get more updates about him in his breeding career

Dawson Hoping To Strike Stallion Deal For Rich Strike
https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/d ... ch-strike/

Right now, I'm entertaining a number of stallion opportunities," Dawson said. "Just trying to find the right spot for him. Hopefully, something will get done pretty quickly. We certainly want to make the 2025 breeding season and have an opportunity with some of the better mares. They're going to start committing pretty quickly, so we want to get into the loop. Just a few weeks ago, I thought I was within hours of getting that done and it all fell apart. That's the horse business. You think you have a deal set and then something comes up to change it." Dawson said his preference is that Rich Strike stands in Kentucky. New York, he said, is his second option. "I am not interested in international markets, just because I'd like to keep him in America," Dawson said. "It's mainly Kentucky and second would be New York. I just want to find a good spot for him. I have no interest in him covering 150 mares. But I'd like to see him cover 25 or 30 really good ones. He's going to have to build his legacy now through his offspring versus what he could do on the racetrack."

If he wants 25 or 30 really good mares, he'd better be shopping at the fall sales.
