Yeah, I'm just being a jerk. Have heard "we should hold the BC in California permanently because it rained at Monmouth that one time" far too often. I feel like I hear about a lot of CA track cancellations due to rain, but surely they have something planned to account for it?

Yes, I'm pretty sure she was considered for it- I think the Mile? Unfortunately it was not to be.

TO Saint Denis just worked and what a striking horse he is. Anyway, he looks great and I will be putting a bet on him

He also got off the vet list:
Mike Welsch
@DRFWelsch
T O Saint Denis, entered in Dirt Mile, working for the vet to get off poor performance list makes the required time to do so going 4F 50.44 set down hard to complete final 1/4 in 23.38 before going out 5F 1:03.45.
City of Troy out there with poop all over his hock, and sweaty as heck, but I really love his flaxen tail

Regarding rain and track conditions in SoCal, within the past few years HISA and PETA have taken over and rewritten the rule book.

White it's doubtful there would ever be enough rain to cancel a BC, that's not so for a regular race day.

Never again will they run on a sealed sloppy track or a turf course that's like a bog, ain't never gonna happen. Other tracks across America can do it but not SoCal.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

This.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Why don't they run on a sealed sloppy track? It's probably pretty obvious but something bad must have happened for them to not do that.

Tapit Trice is my longshot, he is such a pretty grey. I want another grey to win the Classic, that'd be amazing .

In case nobody has posted it yet, one of the highlights of BC meet every year (for me at least) is when O'brien brings out his band, (Aiden's Army) single file to the track.

It's always such a joy to watch:

I liked both the "TO" horses during the KY Derby weekend, my friends laughed at me, but I used him in the Alysheba that Friday at 28-1 (place/show). But I also the other TO, TO Password who ran 5th in the Derby at almost 50--1. Bet that messed up a lot of super high fives. I diidn't go that deep though and would not have had Mystic Dan so ...

TO Password was my horse crush for the Derby. He is GORGEOUS and I hope we see him again someday, since he had time off for bone chips.

Non Compliant and Out on Bail out of BC. Baffert said Non Compliant has a hot foot so scratched. Mike Maker hadn't responded about Out On Bail.

Big bad mean HISA is not forcing California tracks to shut down when it rains. The policy was put into place in 2019 (https://toconline.com/racing-news/santa ... t-weather/) and operates independently of outside pressures (https://www.sgvtribune.com/2023/01/19/s ... s-to-rain/).

Anyways, shame about Non Compliant, and Out on Bail looked like he had an outside shot in the Juvenile Turf Sprint.

Any thoughts on City of Troy's appearance this morning? Does he usually get that worked up during his gallops?

i wonder if the aidanobrienfansite guy will spend the whole day whining about how CA vets don't consider Coolmore's vets opinions like he did yesterday. :)

Believing (IRE) is refusing to walk past the gap on the track and has been trying for quite a while this morning. She was completely rearing up when they tried. Even a pony and being led has been unsuccessful.
