Looks like he is sitting on a big race provided he ships well and likes the DM surface ( and avoids a speed duel up front). But I hope he goes to the front he is most effective there.
I still don't know if he's going to the classic or dirt mile. Some of my fellow shareholders REALLY want him in the classic and figure if he can get on the lead he's the one to beat. People seem to be leaving out the Japanese horses in forever young, ushba Tesoro and derma sotogake and I feel like you can't automatically toss the Japanese horses because they're really talented and coming to win. Some people are automatically tossing city of troy because he's "never run on dirt" and with his talent I feel like he's a bet against at your own risk. For American horses I wouldn't count out fierceness, Sierra leone, Arthur's ride, tapit trice or even bafferts horse newgate

Wow the expectations around Caldera are high. People are already buying their Kentucky derby tickets and planning trips to the 2025 Kentucky derby with the expectations and hopes that Caldera will be in the gate on derby day. He hasn't even run yet so we have no idea what kind of horse he will turn out to be. He looks great during morning works..but so many horses do and can't run well in the afternoon

Seize the grey to the breeders cup dirt mile. I personally am not disappointed and feel like this is the better of the two options. But there are quite a few people in the group who REALLY wanted him in the classic because they feel it's the more prestigious race and they're super disappointed he's now targeting the dirt mile instead. Some people feel by running in the dirt mile he's lost his chance at eclipse award honors if fierceness runs well in the classic.

Mrh feels the dirt mile gives Seize the Grey the best chance at champion 3 year old male

Results:
Simply Enchanting finished 3rd
Sweet as Sin finished 1st

Entries
Classic Cut entered in allowance at Remington Park on 10/24
Hero Status entered in allowance at Keeneland on 10/20
Real Savvy entered in MSW at Belmont at the Big A on 10/19 (AE)

Balletic entered in Keeneland November Sale (Hip1314)
Rosie's Alibi entered in Fasig-Tipton Night of the Stars (Hip 183)

Seize the Grey confirmed for Breeder's Cup Dirt Mile.
Authentic's stud fee has gone from $75k(first year) to $50k(second year) and now $25k(third year). As mentioned above, his shareholders are not happy. Mares bred number looks good, so now it's time for Authentic to prove himself.

re: Caldera. I can't look. If something happens to that colt, or if he doesn't live up to expectations the pushback is going to be enormous. So I'm not looking.

Guinevere will be sold at Keeneland November. Mrh acknowledged the news "might be a disappointment to some"(no kidding..people are not happy despite this being a possibility for awhile)..personally I think that while she might not go for a ton of money..she's got nice conformation and nice pedigree..given her sire is justify..SOMEONE will want her for a potential broodmare. She's retiring sound and healthy..she's just too big and not FAST.

The other horse in this bundle has had alot of setbacks and never run. So people are naturally disappointed the bundle flopped so badly

I honestly thought Gainesway would want to buy us out to keep Guinevere when she was retired.

If they did that, wouldn't it be through an auction anyway? It seems like most higher profile partnerships get dissolved in the auction ring, best way to assure they get a fair price.

Hero Status ran 6th at Keeneland today, and people are already calling for him to be retired. Good grief.

I never expected him to run super well today. My opinion all along has been he needed the race

Same. It looks like he ran 6th the last time he was at Keeneland, too, so I guess he's consistent?

Yes he's definitely consistent. My observation is that the SAME people who were begging mrh to ship him out of California and run him are now the same ones bitching now that hero didn't run well..I kinda predicted THAT would happen too

Well now hero status has a valid reason as to why he didn't run up to people's expectations today

I saw that. Now the "retire him!" people are even louder.

What is the reason? Has something happened/been found out since that race?

The Chosen Vron being ruled out of the breeders cup sprint due to injury should change the race scenario up for straight no chaser

Mrh has decided to geld Secret Crush. Most people are in agreement with the decision. I have seen some people who are complaining he's being gelded too early and "we are ruining his future stud career".

The horse has good bloodlines but nobody is going to be lining up to breed to a 3 year old horse who's lightly raced and hasn't broken his maiden or run a stakes race

I rarely agree with that mob, but it’s hard to argue that gelding him won’t ruin his future stud career.

  I wouldn't be surprised though if Secret Crush makes his next start, if he makes it back to the track, in a maiden claiming race due to how much money he has cost due to various health reasons.
