Also, on the Ghostzapper note, I wonder if they’ll even have an advertised fee for him. Even if they halved his fee, he would still be far out of reach for Ontario breeders. Also, tbh, would you want to have his coveted last book of mares being lower quality local mares?
I feel like he’s going to cover like 5 outside mares that ship up from Kentucky and then another dozen or so Adena mares. I just hope this is his final home. The Adena pensioners either go to the Ocala farm or old friends, but Ghostzapper is just something special, and I hate seeing these old guys getting moved multiple times.

Well that’s different. I wish I still lived in Ontario, he’s one of my favourites.brunanas wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 11:44 amnot pensioned.flytpthestars wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 1:31 pm Ghostzapper pensioned and now at Adena's Canada division

Heard on Nick Luck’s podcast today that Galileo Gold has been sold to Indonesia.
Looks like the deal happened over a month ago, surprised it didn’t get more attention. He wasn’t a super stallion but he still was a Classic winner

Uhh...alrighty then. At least he raced for several years instead of retiring with injury after 4 starts or something.
There's racing in Indonesia?
I believe Darby Dan has housed more stallions than they do currently. I don't think space is the issue. I'm just fascinated that Gufo gets to go to Kentucky.

I noticed someone asked about him directly to the farm's Twitter page, and no answer yet. He only bred 11 mares this year. Kind of wonder if his fertility took a hit as a ridgling, got injured, or he actually died. I do not recollect Claiborne being the type of place to get rid of underperforming stallions as fast as the others.
I wanna do bad things with you.

It seems to be a rare day when Claiborne moves on a horse

He was still there last week. Wish i had a chance to have him pulled out or have his stall door opened.Psychotic Parakeet wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 6:19 pmI noticed someone asked about him directly to the farm's Twitter page, and no answer yet. Depends on the syndicate or who owns the stallion. Claiborne and Lanes End started to move them faster than they had for awhile. They both used to do the same as everyone else. Since 2020 five have left so average of 1 a year.Psychotic Parakeet wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 6:19 pmI noticed someone asked about him directly to the farm's Twitter page, and no answer yet. No. Really surprised they kept all the rest of their 2nd crop stallions.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 6:51 pmJust posted in The 2025 fees threadhalo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 6:40 pm Spendthrift...a few surprises here.

I was just thinking, why didn't WinStar stand Justify instead of Coolmore?

Because Coolmore wanted to own a triple crown winning son of their then deceased stallion, so they showed up with a horse trailer full of money.othybat_99 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 12:45 pm I was just thinking, why didn't WinStar stand Justify instead of Coolmore?
And… WinStar is WinStar. It’s a money making venture, not a horse breeding venture.
Not that Coolmore is much better, but they don’t mind splashing huge amounts of cash on stallion prospects.
