You just need to add, except 12f+ horses. They don't care about rushing those to stud cause no one wants to breed to them anyway, except National Hunt.
They did say when they announced that Auguste Rodin was standing at Coolmore Ireland after the Japan Cup run that they would be supporting him but... yeah I don't know that they actually will. Maybe some lesser mares.
Anything that was in the starting gate for the St Leger will keep on trucking, or be sold to Lloyd Williams.

I can't say I blame the breeders that cancelled for being wary of any stallion that was under the "influence" of Navarro, Servis, et al. It's really taking a gamble. I remember people regarding El Deal as being super suspicious on the track but he turned into a really good Louisiana sire and while Sharp Azteca did OK he was sold to Japan. World of Trouble's name turned out to be accurate in more ways than one and I'm not too hopeful for Maximum Security's future in the shed right now. Jury is out on Firenze Fire but he did prove he didn't need the "influence" of Servis to be successful.
Very cool and happy for him!

I wonder what motivated this big move. I didn't know his name meant "owl" in Italian; that makes me like him more.

I want to say yes but because he helps rank in tour money and is still getting over 100 mares I'm going to say no. Now Maximum Security him I see being on the chopping block very soonEohippus wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 10:23 amRandom, but do you guys ever see American Pharoah being sold to make room in the stallion barn?flytpthestars wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 8:26 amSomeone ar Coolmore did tell me they are having at least 2 new stallions for 2025, maybe 3. Not that Coolmore cares about PR, but it would be a really bad PR move to sell on the first Triple Crown winner in 42 years. He's also still a useful sire. 15th Nationally, though most of his best runners were in Australia and New Zealand this year, and covered 158 mares. I would imagine another fee drop for him next year, which will probably still get him a decent sized book. I think as long as he is reasonably priced, he could buy himself some time and goodwill with The Lads.Eohippus wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 10:23 amRandom, but do you guys ever see American Pharoah being sold to make room in the stallion barn?flytpthestars wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 8:26 amSomeone ar Coolmore did tell me they are having at least 2 new stallions for 2025, maybe 3. Also interesting that Gufo is moving to Kentucky and getting a fee hike from $4,500CAD ($3,200USD) to $5,000USD. Optimistic, I guess.

G2W My Prospero (Iffraaj × My Titania, by Sea the Stars) will enter stud at Haras des Faunes for 2025. He is expected to make his final start in the Grosser Preis Von Bayern (G1) in Germany next month.

SPW The Street Fighter (Street Boss × Silver Swallow, by Alphabet Soup) appears to be entering stud publicly next year at Rancho San Miguel in California. His dam was placed in 8 graded stakes, including two G1 stakes, and raced from age 2 through 7. He bred two mares in 2023.
Unraced Imposing (Gun Runner × Untapable, by Tapit) will enter stud next year at Cabin Creek Farm in Pennsylvania.

I wonder why he hasn't been, but 2024 he covered less then 60 mares. I also don't remember the last time I saw Ashford post anything on himEohippus wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:09 pmHonestly I am surprised Max wasn’t sold alreadyAkitaperson wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 10:41 amI want to say yes but because he helps rank in tour money and is still getting over 100 mares I'm going to say no. Outwork is missing from WinStars roster; supposedly moved to Saudi Arabia per Flanders.

Yeah, maybe I’m biased as I view Coolmore’s attitude as cut throat I always assume a stallion covering less than 100 mares as good as goneAkitaperson wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:13 pmI wonder why he hasn't been, but 2024 he covered less then 60 mares. Spendthrift shares my same thought. If the stallion is no longer a cash cow it leaves. Honestly I feel Spendtrhift is more of a revolving door for stallions then Ashford

Farms rarely own stallions. Syndicates made of breeders own stallions. When they fail commercially the vast majority of the syndicate aren't going to use them since they are almost all commercial breeders. All farms have syndicates that move on stallions. The reason some feel more revolving door than others is the sheer amount of stallions they bring In every year. Years ago I read that historically only about 33% of new stallions stay in Kentucky, past their first crop being 4. Maybe that has changed since then. I can look into it later but having computer issues atm and I'm not trying to do that on my tablet. Hahaha

I agree. Spendthrift and WinStar remove studs far faster than Coolmore does.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:56 pmEohippus wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:43 pmYeah, maybe I’m biased as I view Coolmore’s attitude as cut throat I always assume a stallion covering less than 100 mares as good as goneAkitaperson wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:13 pm

Given the press releases for Auguste Rodin, City of Troy, and Domestic Product in the last week, I would expect that if Sierra Leone is going to be retired, we’ll hear about it in the next 2-3 days.
