Together Forever (Galileo), dam of City of Troy at Ashford with her Into Mischief filly
Something looks very off about her. She's only 12, and there's some serious dips and points by her hips. Yes, she's pregnant again (to Justify) but those are some selective angles and photos IMO....

Came here to post those photos, but you beat me to it.
However, I hadn't noticed the selective angles. I would guess she has a pretty serious swayed back for a mare of her age. Given that they are trying to market City of Troy as the stallion prospect of a lifetime, I imagine they don't want prospective breeders to see his mother with serious conformation flaws at such a young age. I'm surprised Coolmore even let a 3rd party photographer on the property to begin with, so I guess we can be grateful for that?
Interested to see what happens with her Into Mischief filly. When they send Galileo mares to American dirt stallions, they almost always end up going to the yearling sales. But this one clearly is now a very special commodity!

Champion Tepin is gone. It was casually mentioned in this article:

Bobby Flay has bought back Pizza Bianca and her Into Mischief filly from Resolute Bloodstock. Sum undisclosed.
She was scheduled to go through FT November Night of the Stars otherwise.

Tepin’s passing being mentioned as a footnote really makes me mad. I know it’s classic Coolmore, but c’mon, she was a Champion. Her last reported foal was 2022, if she died between 2022 and now and they didn't say anything, that would be just next level.
I briefly met and spoke to Robert Masterson at the Preakness this year, and we talked almost exclusively about Tepin. He was still talking about her in the present tense. And we know if Mark Casse knew she had passed, he would've told the media.

Sad to hear about Tepin. Her Queen Anne victory was so thrilling.

must suck to have so much money you don't have to care abt PR, from their attitudes on tours (my "great, THIS again" tour guide was heading on holiday the next week and told the whole grp "i hope i don't see a single horse for ten days"), to their gross over-breeding (not that they are alone here), to having zero communication w fans. so mad that both TC winners are there, esp pharoah. publc access to the horse who broke the longest TC drought is at the mercy of the least personable/horse-able farm.

So, she did die last year at age 12. Of course we aren't going to get a cause or anything besides confirmation from Coolmore's rep, but at least we got the calendar year. I'm sure Byk will talk to Mark Casse about it this week, so I'd be interested to know if this is news to him too. She is in two hall of fames for goodness' sake.

Sure hope they get her hooves straightened out quick, those cracks look deep and the one on the left looks like it’s already cracking all the way up.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 3:40 pm Swiss Skydiver, she's looking well

Finding a good farrier must be the proverbial unicorn in the equine world. Someone posted an updated photo of Justify the other day, and his front hooves were pretty gnarly.Essential Quality wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 6:00 pmSure hope they get her hooves straightened out quick, those cracks look deep and the one on the left looks like it’s already cracking all the way up.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 3:40 pm Swiss Skydiver, she's looking well

Or is it purposely a lack of oversight? Justify's feet:
