Definitely a high reserve, but Kirsten Rausing sounded pretty pragmatic about the whole thing when she was interview by Nick Luck last week. She has a daughter out of Alpinista, along with sisters, aunts, nieces, cousins, step-grandmothers - every possible relation from that family. Guess that's a big bonus of nursing a bloodline for 5 generations.
I'm predicting we have one month until John Stewart starts tweeting about her.

The sale begins tomorrow. It will be interesting to see which horses Sheika Hissa purchases.

I know he is a hot shot football/soccer agent, but I don’t know how Kia Joorabchian has this much money. He pulled King of Steel and his other horses from Roger Varian because he said it was too expensive, but then spends god knows how much at the yearling sales.
I know this sport needs as many rich and passionate owners as possible, but the speed and scale of Amo is kind of wild. If this ended up as a Phoenix Thoroughbred kind of racket, I don’t know if I would be surprised

139 - Ulysses x Diagnostic (full to White Birch) - 170k gns to Godolphin
He has an interesting marking, kind of a reverse bloody-shoulder mark where his right hip down to his leg is a lighter shade of gray than the rest of him. And he was registered as a chestnut lol
You can see some of it in this photo

He was registered as CHESTNUT!?
Yeah, that doesn't seem right.
Wonder if his registration gets changed to the Grey he actually is.

Chestnut foals grey out all the time. I never thought about it before, but how does the Jockey Club deal with this?BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 7:03 pm He was registered as CHESTNUT!?

They should be registered the correct color to begin with but if they aren't, the owner just submits a correction. If they do it within 6 months of foal registration its free. After that it costs $80 every time a correction needs made. But that is the thing, they submit a live foal, they can wait to do the foal registration, sure they want it done before the foal turns one but by then they should know what color the horse is.Missbeholder wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 7:23 pmChestnut foals grey out all the time. Weatherbys... I don't know about them. They let Bedtime Story race as a bay or grey and that is still her listed color.
