Sheesh, McKinzie is off to some startCoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 3:23 pm Scottish Lassie (McKinzie) ran away with the G1 Frizette over Snowyte. She was a maiden still.
Her first race, she ran 3rd, behind Quickick (McKinzie) and Snowyte (Good Magic) at Saratoga

Chancer McPatrick (McKinzie) goes last to first in the G1 Champagne. This colt is seriously so good! McKinzie gets 2 G1 winners back to back!

And McKinzie continues his good start, as Chancer McPatrick wins the G1 Champagne at Aqueduct@Belmont by easy lengths.

East Avenue (MdO) wins the Breeder's Futurity over Ferocious. Ferocious definitely needs blinkers cus he was, once again, super green but East Avenue was much the best! East Avenue is a grandson to G1W Dance Card

I love the fact that MDO was 23 when East Avenue was conceived. The old man still has it.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 5:29 pm East Avenue (MdO) wins the Breeder's Futurity over Ferocious. He was much the best over the rest of the field and he ran like the rail was going to bite him. He just shying away from it, his feet sliding out from under him, he dumped his jockey in the gate... he seems like he is a bit of a nutcase.
There is also an objection from Ferocious's connections against East Avenue because East Avenue was the horse next to Ferocious when Ferocious was freaking out

I still wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not a Classic type horse, and I LOVE FlatterCoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 5:33 pmHe was much the best over the rest of the field and he ran like the rail was going to bite him. Regardless, I would not move on to the BC with him
Filoso is a horse to keep an eye on. Wasn’t there a speed bias at Keeneland? In any case, EA had it his own way, and Filoso closed well. He beat a very nice horse in Spurgeon last out

Ferocious being out of a Midnight Lute mare doesn't necessarily mean he should be a sprinter. ML himself wasn't bred to be a sprinter, being by double-classic-winning Real Quiet. He ended up being a sprinter due (IIRC) to a breathing issue which kept him at shorter distances.

Maybe not, but he just doesn’t strike me as a Classic kind of horse…but since he’s one of the last of the Flatters, I hope I’m wrongBaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 5:46 pm Ferocious being out of a Midnight Lute mare doesn't necessarily mean he should be a sprinter. Anybody know why Del Mar Futurity winner Gaming didn't run? He's had a couple of short works so maybe working up to the BCJ? Or did a wheel come off?CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 8:19 pm Citizen Bull wins the g1 American pharaoh stakes going gate to wire over getaway car and mckinzie street
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Who knows the real story but read somewhere that Bob felt he ran really hard in his last race and needed more time to recover before the BC.Diver52 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 1:35 amAnybody know why Del Mar Futurity winner Gaming didn't run? There was a DRF race preview for the American Pharoah and Baffert said he was training Gaming up to the BC Juvenile. If DRF had a search feature I'd link it but alas they hate us and don't.Diver52 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 1:35 amAnybody know why Del Mar Futurity winner Gaming didn't run? Two G1Ws for McKinzie this weekend? Wowza.
Meanwhile, I didn't realize Instilled Regard also has 2 y/o's this year. I hope this is a sign of things to come.
