Yeah, the Japanese Derby 3rd ran very well in his first start in Europe.
We knew he didn't dislike European turf at least.
He will head to the Arc, of course.

Yoshito Yahagi has just commented,

''That was a tough race, in which Coolmore had four runners and we had only one.
I'm sorry for the fans in Japan who backed us holding win tickets.
Shin Emperor was only about 70% today and he will improve from here for the Arc.''

16 selected horses for the Japan Dirt Classic (Jpn1. 2000m dirt at Oi on Oct 2nd) have been announced today!! :D
The Japan Dirt Classic is the final leg of the Japan Dirt Triple Crown.
I wonder if this Jpn1 field could be even more competitive than a G1!! :D
Can't wait!!

An encouraging return for Ushba Tesoro; less so for Derma Sotogake. He's been a little disappointing this year in light of his big second in the Classic last year.

William Barows(JPN)(Mikki Isle) looked like a 9F (1800m) specialist and Ryusei Sakai gave him the best ride last night!
He might be pointed to either Jpn1 JBC Classic or G1 Champions Cup next.

Both Ushba Tesoro (Yuga Kawada) and Derma Sotogake (Christophe Lemaire) will head to Del Mar as planned.

That kind of looks like a heartrate monitor but usually it's further up in the girth area.

Since he is much deeper through the girth than he is around his waist, it may have just slipped back.
