so a ton of people have been asking on X where he is. He doesn't respond but gives a ♥.
There is a rumor on X but because its a rumor it has just as much chance no being true, as being true. They said he got into it with a producer or management and he is suspended or getting fired. Whatever it is, it appears he isn't allowed to talk about it.

Nobody and I mean nobody in the talking head business did more to make money for his company than Mr. Shrupp.
Ohh sure, I understand not liking the hawking, the constant barrage of promoting the pick fours, send in the money etc.
But that's his job and over 20 years he helped make TVG #1 in revenue, like it not.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

I'm with you. Granted I may be a bit biased as we're friends, but I think he does a great job. I hope things work out.stark wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 8:14 pm Nobody and I mean nobody in the talking head business did more to make money for his company than Mr. Shrupp.

Andy, will your NYRA crew be covering the Churchill races at all?
I miss being able to hear what your expert (and very entertaining) group of analysts provides us.

Yep, people need to start understanding the game and stop hating the Playa’. Is Schrupp akin to a carnival barker? Sure but that’s what he’s paid to do.thinair wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 8:30 pmI'm with you. Granted I may be a bit biased as we're friends, but I think he does a great job. I do look forward to your commentary when you return to Belmont@theBigA this Friday. Should be good racing.

They don't say what happened, they refuse to actually, but he is returning this week.

I kinda liked the explanation Todd posted on X that he was appreciative his employer let him have time off to do some charity events and then he was spotted in NY doing exactly that.Flanders wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 8:39 pmThey don't say what happened, they refuse to actually, but he is returning this week.

When did they start showing Aqueduct again? I suppose it's too much to hope that they'll show the summer NYRA racing.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I don't remember seeing Saratoga on TVG, though. I'm sure I'd have noticed! Or am I totally losing it? (Not an impossibility.) I thought it was less of a dispute than Fox wanting exclusivity, but I could certainly be wrong about that too.

Strictly a wild guess......might it have something to do with College Football on FoxSports?

It is telling that Fox hasn't had "Day at the Races" on at all this weekend. FanDrool may have bought the rights to show NY racing, which is convenient for TVG viewers, but I would miss the NY crew. Andy, the Mig, Lafitte and the rest of the "DatR" analysts are excellent. Really like the way it's more about the horses, and none of that sports betting s@@t.

I did enjoy most of the hosts on Fox, but latterly there wasn't much action so I would watch FanDuel and try to time switching over to Fox to catch a race I was interested in. For me, it's just more convenient having them on one platform.
