Me and Flanders once spoke about Florida Holiday. It's near impossible to do some google sleuthing for him cause all you'll find is suggestions for horse riding on vacay in FL.

I'm pretty sure Forbidden Kingdom is to enter stud next year in California.

Forbidden Kingdom is indeed set to stand at Legacy Ranch in California next year.

Coliseum is owned by Godolphin so unless he is deceased, he was probably retired and rehomed through their program.

As far as California stallions, I'm wondering about Greyvitos.

I think Florida Holiday was born and raced before Into Mischief really took off as a stallion.

I think Greyvitos was sold to the Philippines if I remember right. or I might be thinking of someone else.

Edit to add: I was thinking of Gunmental Gray... Greyvitos doesn't have anything on the JC.

Smokey Image, won the Golden State Juvenile S., California Cup Derby. Now a gelding. Pasture pet now or in a second career somewhere?

He was last listed for stud duty in 2023 at Ransom Ranch in Galt, CA. Nothing on CTBA's site noting if he was moved or pensioned. Last mares bred report was filed in 2022. JC shows no record of either a death or exportation. He only sired 8 known foals and only two of them made it to the races. What is interesting if when I pulled up the farm's physical address on Google Maps, it shows a grey horse in a pen next to the driveway, which I presume is him.

By his trainer’s definition, he evidently isn’t a good one.

Listened to a really good podcast where Kenny McPeek talks about injury prevention and treatment. He mentioned a horse he had last year that was injured named Maximum Improvement-I have been unable to find that horse anywhere and wonder how he is doing. He said he broke his maiden last year by 14 lengths. Can anyone help? Thanks!

So I assume that I found the horse however the only things that are correct are, his name starts with Maximum and he won a maiden by 14 lengths. Year is wrong, name is wrong.

You can use Equibase to look at all a trainer or jockey's starts for a year, by going to their Statistics page, then clicking on View(at the end of the stats line for a year). It then goes to a page of just their starts for the given year, I sorted the races by name and then Finish so I could read all the Maiden winners he had last year. There wasn't anything close. You can also just type part or all of a horse's name in the search right above and it will only look through the trainers starts for the year.

But because the horses name started with Maximum, I thought maybe a Maximum Security baby. Since his oldest foals are 2, I checked 2024, he broke his maiden by 14 1/2 at Ellis and his name is Maximum Promise. He last worked a month ago. But if McPeek was talking about the horse being injured, then it just happened about a month ago? Or did the horse get injured as a yearling?

Thanks- he said was injured after the race so must have been recent. With so many horses probably hard to remember all the names. Thanks for the research!

Take with a grain of salt since its Pedigreequery and anyone can edit but I'm leaning to its truth.

It looks like he ended up in Iran. He has an export on JC. And a few foals are on Pedigreequery, they are all out of mares that were supposedly sold to Iran. Coincidentally, the one mare he covered also has a foal by Mutawahej (full to Serena's Cat, dam of Honor Code) who is also in Iran.

Thanks! How did you find out the mares bred to him etc? Or are you using just PedigreeQuery?

Yeah I just looked at Pedigreequery. I just doubt that someone put in fake foals with the mares having proper backgrounds, like being noted as being sold to Iran and having foals by other stallions that were sold to Iran. I can't prove 100% that it is correct because its PQ but it just seems more than likely to be correct.
