Hope Road (Quality Road x MGSW Marley's Freedom) stayed perfect in 2023 with an easy win in the G3 Torrey Pines at Del Mar.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

That's the most thrilling stretch battle I've seen in JRA 2yo debut races this year!!
The runner-up Grosbeak(JPN), 2024C. Siskin(USA) x Admire Sceptre(JPN)(full to Duramente) by King Kamehameha under Christophe Lemaire, must be very good, too!! https://en.netkeiba.com/db/horse/2022104608/

https://www.drf.com/news/mixto-after-pa ... ainer-saysBob Baffert-trained Reincarnate finished a modest third in the Pacific Classic, but two races earlier on Saturday he unleashed a potential star. Ultra Power returned from a 10-month layoff to win an entry-level allowance by seven lengths in 1:35.54 with a 104 Beyer.
Ultra Power, a 3-year-old colt sired by Curlin and produced by multiple Grade 1 winner Unique Bella, ran like he trained. “He’d been training like a real good horse,” Baffert said. He said Ultra Power was “a little jarred up” last year, which necessitated a layoff.
“He was just an immature, big horse. We let him grow up.” Ultra Power is now 2 for 4, and already faster than Pacific Classic winner Mixto on speed figures. Baffert did not specify where Ultra Power might start next.

Thank you very much!!
I had no idea where his name came from and I've just looked it up in the dictionary now.
Neither Siskin nor Grosbeak inhabits in Japan.
First Crop sire Siskin(USA) had only seven foals in his debut season at Shadai due to injury.
But he's already had two JRA winners and a smart runner-up here.
He had a better crop in his second year as he recovered from injury.
Look forward to seeing what the son of First Defense will do!!

The upcoming 8th at Kentucky Downs, a 6 1/2-furlong AOC for 3yo+up, has a salty field. Especially watching American Rascal, son of Curlin and the great Lady Aurelia.
ETA: Implementation (Constitution) won, Outadore (Outwork) 2nd and Foxtrotanna (Fast Anna) 3rd. American Rascal was way off the board.

Zverev runs again today in the Virginia Derby at Colonial Downs. He's 10-1 and his last out was not impressive but he did beat West Hollywood 2 races back, so will see if he gets a better start and is closer to the front this time.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 8:31 pm Zverev [Oscar Performance x MG1SW Balance] broke his maiden at Turfway Park today in Race 1

The 8th at Churchill, a 6-furlong MSW for 2yo fillies, has a large field of well-bred fillies, but I will be hoping In the Stars (Into Mischief x Stellar Wind) does her mom proud.
