Built uphill?
Looks like a growth spurt. Some get butt-high, then the rest catches up.

One of the theories regarding the existence "off color" thoroughbreds is that many of the early TBs and foundation stock who were registered as "chestnut" could also qualify as palomino and dun. Maybe some of them were objectively palomino.
Definitely. Enough to look at old paintings. Cream dilution has definitely been present in the breed since the very beginning. The Jockey Club is stuck in stone age, still registering grays as gray/roan. No wonder they misregistered cream dilutions as chestnuts, bays..

The last time I was in England, six or seven years ago, I saw an eighteenth century painting of a racehorse that was very clearly palomino. This was at the Wimpole Estate, just outside Cambridge, which is fairly close to Newmarket.

I've tried and so far unfortunately failed to find out any more information on the painting or the horse in it (it's not even in the National Trust's online archive of art from that estate), but it was interesting to see.
Both of them remind me of Turkomen horses.

Just the other day I was wandering around on pedigreequery and ended up reading about Darcy's Yellow Turk (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D'Arcy_Yellow_Turk), who was a major foundation sire and is listed as palomino in the pedigreequery database. It sounds like nobody is entirely sure whether he was actually palomino or just a sorrel, so he probably isn't the horse in the painting, but how cool is that? I wonder if his cream dilution (if it ever existed) is still floating around somewhere in a distant corner of the breed.

If you google the original Whistlejacket, he clearly has palomino coloring. (I have a image somewhere, but I can't manage to paste it.)
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

White 2 y/o c. Schneeglockchen (Nadal - Hau Nani, by Lord Kanaloa) will make his racing debut in Race 5 at Chukyo this Saturday.

Schneeglockhen comes from the famous Yukichan family of white horses (she is his grandma). He is the first foal of white mare Hau Nani.

Also in this race is Rey Zario (Admire Mars - G1W Tell a Kelly, by Tapit).

Hip 2279 at the Keeneland Sale, while he doesn't have "uniqueness" he is very flashy and it's cool (to me at least) the way his socks trail off on his front and back leg

Also the most adorable face Image

Schneeglockchen unfortunately finished 16th (last).

The winner was chestnut filly Shonan Raffine (Orfevre - Shonan Linge).

Definitely a flaxen chestnut. Also a painting horse lovers should see in person if they can, IMO (it's in the National Gallery in London). Prints/reproductions really don't capture its majesty.

"Family of Caravaggio?" :?
Well, Flameaway is a Scat Daddy son, as is Caravaggio. That is the connection, but why name a half sibling (one of many Scat Daddy stakes winners), instead of their sire?

Well, it's literally from the family of Caravaggio lmao. Caravaggio's 2nd dam is Aerosilver, who is the 3rd dam of the linked horse. So why not say it's from the family of Caravaggio?

Strummin's second dam is a full to the dam of Caravaggio.
