What are some of your favorite or just notable racehorses (studs as well!) that have just disappeared off the face of the earth, with no news, or very vague news?

Dam and sister of Wando, I've been curious about them for a while, but I don't get much info from pedigreequery.
Katie's Colleen, if she's still alive, would be 32.
Six Sexy Sisters supposedly hasn't had a foal since 2011, she would have been 10 and therefore still young.

Harvey's Lil Goil didn't disappear. She just retired from racing. She had a Street Sense filly last year, a Curlin filly this year and was bred back to Not This Time.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 11:50 am Harvey's Lil Goil - a daughter of American pharoah born in 2017

I know but she just seems like one of those mares who retired and you basically don't hear about them. I did ask about her here and I know she is in KY. But as I said she at least to me seems like one of those mares who kinda dropped into obscurity with retirement

Not trying to argue, but most mares are pretty obscure once they retire to be broodmares.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 12:17 pmmariasmon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 12:14 pmHarvey's Lil Goil didn't disappear. Black Onyx was one of the horses who got me into racing, he’s definitely one. I’d love to know if he’s retired as a pet somewhere or something, since his stud career didn’t work out.

My Boy Jack, Big Score, Mocito Rojo, & Long Range Toddy. They weren't world-beaters, but I liked them.......

My Boy Jack was retired through Second Stride so at least he got a soft landing.MissNMecke wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 1:12 pm My Boy Jack, Big Score, Mocito Rojo, & Long Range Toddy. They weren't world-beaters, but I liked them.......

Can add about any horse that was at that farm at that time. They pretty much all "disappeared" after the AI/embryo transfer thing.
https://www.horse-racing-forum.com/foru ... 48#p199848 So you can read through the numerous posts and links if you were interested.
Now ofc that doesn't answer your question was just saying they almost all disappeared. The mares were never bred again, most of the stallions disappeared too. Then the link to the Stronach mares thread that was mentioned: https://www.horse-racing-forum.com/foru ... f=4&t=6534 Can't imagine the ones that disappeared ended with a good fate.

the fact that we even have a thread like this is sad. really wish there was more transparency in the sport.
not famous, but i wonder abt Hellcat Pilot and Tin Princess often. but i wonder if it's better that i don't know what happened to them.

That's a relief to hear! I didn't care if he was making little Jacks out there, just that he has a good life. Thank you!Flanders wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 5:13 pmMy Boy Jack was retired through Second Stride so at least he got a soft landing.MissNMecke wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 1:12 pm My Boy Jack, Big Score, Mocito Rojo, & Long Range Toddy. You are welcome. He was the only one I found that are actually MIA. Here is his Second Stride promo video that I found after my original reply where they say who owns him.MissNMecke wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 6:09 pmThat's a relief to hear! I owned a percentage of a racehorse named Ears Johnnie that eventually ended up at CERF, which was the gold standard for a place of Thoroughbred Aftercare in California. He was turned into a pony at the track, injured himself, and was retired to be a pasture puff at that facility. They were shutdown years ago due to animal cruelty, neglect, and many horses died on their grounds. There was not any indication that he was ever adopted out, so I have no clue if he is alive somewhere and it was never recorded... or if he was part of the unidentified remains found at their facility. I know he was not identified when they confiscated horses off of their grounds. I would just like closure; even though I have a feeling he is gone.

Yes! I know he eventually shipped overseas from standing stud in the USA, and then that was it. I think his last crop was born in 2014, but zero indication if he was pensioned, passed away, or any information beyond that. I believe he was one of the stallions that needed a muzzle and a baseball bat when accompanied to the breeding shed.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 8:21 pm Spinning World was featured in that blog about meanest stallions alive right?
