So my friend, who along with myself has been waiting to see if our fave colt was entered, posted this:

“Sapling did not fill/was not drawn. Sorority was supposed to be last week and didn't fill, and now it's on the Saturday overnight with nine entries.”
I’m gobsmacked that they couldn’t get enough runners for a $200,000 race, even though I shouldn’t be since it only had 14 nominations

I guess they’re not going to run the Sapling this year. Is this - or has this been an issue at Monmouth? Lack of horses ? Lack of interest in rich stakes?

Hasn't the awful weather on the east coast been impacting Monmouth a lot? If horses haven't been able to train on a normal schedule (because the track was muddy mess), that might have caused some potential stakes entrants to be lacking in proper preparation. :?

I think so - I’m no longer in NY, so I’m not really paying attention, but that’s a very good point

Matt Dinerman said that the Sorority was used as an extra on Saturday’s card, and they could go the same thing for the Sapling next week
