I’ll be honest, I’m puzzled at Whit. He’s changed jocks again (Geroux ride HM well in the Belmont), and now he’s adding blinkers. Why now? He says he’d like the colt to be a little closer, but the reason he was so far back in his last two was because of brutal starts. Blinkers won’t help with bad luck
And, I’ll be honest, this last work gives me the same vibes I had with Honor A.P. before the Shared Belief. John worked him very slowly, didn’t even give him one stiff breeze before the race. I felt even before the race that HAP wasn’t prepared.
I feel the same with HM. Before the Derby, Whit gave the colt a strong workout - maybe it was the penultimate one, I’m not sure. But he hasn’t done that here. His work yesterday was SLOW - and I know it was intentionally slow, but watching the video just gave me a bad feeling
I believe that HM on his day, with a good trip, would run a big race. But I just don’t have a good feeling now - I think Whit is trying too hard to fix something that’s not broken

I need some help in order to watch the Travers
I live in the Detroit area where the Detroit Lions
Take precedence on Fox-- This past Saturday the lions pre-empted
Saratoga and the lions are going to preempt the travers--
I am somewhat retarded with respect to technology--
Is there a way to stream the Fox program on my computer
Or tablet? I cant quite figure out if a FUBO app would help or how to even
Download the app
Thank you for any ideas you may have

FUBO is a paid service and I'm not sure if they show horse racing.barbaro111 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 4:55 pm I need some help in order to watch the Travers

I don't have cable so I haven't been in this situation. I would do a dry run if I was you. Go on Fox on your computer and see if you can watch something different than what its showing locally right now. You'll have to prove you actually have a service that allows you to watch Fox. And then you hope you can watch on Saturday.
NYRA streams on Youtube but they always cut the coverage for races on Fox.

It looks like ADW is allowed in Michigan, so perhaps you could sign up for a NYRA bets account? I can't remember if it requires you to make a deposit, but it's secure and a great venue for watching races.barbaro111 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 4:55 pm I need some help in order to watch the Travers

Some good races here, but the Allen Jerkens is absolutely spectacular.

Hi fellow Michigander! I watch on TwinSpires.com or on NYRABets.com. You just have to make an account.barbaro111 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 4:55 pm I need some help in order to watch the Travers

Shout out to ya!!! doesn't it just bug you that the Detroit Lions exhibition (meaningless game) pre-empts horse racing on a day like the Travers?ForTheThrill wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 10:50 pmHi fellow Michigander! Fox treats horse racing just awful: between FS1 and FS2- one switches to the other, or on occasion, all of a sudden horse racing is gone altogether!

My heart chooses Thorpedo Anna, but my head is thinking Dornoch.
May all come home safely.

I wish Fox's Talking Heads would stop calling the Sword Dancer a MARATHON.
12 furlongs is considered middle distance in places like Europe or Japan. IIRC, the race needs to be 13 furlongs and up to be a stayer's test.
The 2 1/2-mile Ascot Gold Cup is a MARATHON.
