Does anyone know the name of the farm Tiz the Law shuttled to for the SH breeding season? I only know he's in South America.

Paso Nevado has just announced this is (supposedly) the last time Tiz the Law shuttles to Chile.

I'm curious if South American farms even advertise stud fees? I don't know that I can recall ever seeing one. I feel like they always say something along the lines of "Please contact for details". I will say that I've never gone looking for that information either. I just don't ever remember seeing a fee when I was looking at rosters or trying to find where a stallion was standing.
I will say though that there is no way that shuttle stallions stud fees are remotely what they are in the US. Its going to be what the local economy can support. We can use Justify as an example though he shuttled to Australia. He was standing in the US for 200k but standing in Australia for 77k AUD(about 50k USD).

Personally I feel at the start of there careers regardless of being tc winners I feel Justify and Pharoah should've been priced between 50-70k. It was always a laugh for me seeing them at the very start of there stud careers being priced the same as proven stallions.

While I agree that its insane for a new stallion to start out at a stud fee over 100k, its been happening for a long time. It just doesn't happen that often. I'm guessing the mega initial stud fees started during the early 80s when stud fees were astronomically high. I wish it was simple to find a stallions stud fee for the early to mid 80s, I would find it interesting to use an inflation calculator to be able to compare it to today. I was able to find Spectacular Bid's was 150k when he went to stud in 1981, that is over 500k today. But I don't really know fees during that time, only things I've read. Others I can think of, Easy Goer and Smarty Jones started at 100k, Point Given at 125k, Justify at 150k, American Pharoah, Ghostzapper and Flightline at 200k(I may be forgetting someone, I couldn't find Affirmed or Seattle Slew's initial stud fees). I tried pulling old stallion registers but because of the small books of mares they bred, they were almost always listed as private or book full (with no fee listed).Akitaperson wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 8:05 pmFlanders wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 6:54 pmI'm curious if South American farms even advertise stud fees? That article is a mess of misinformation probably written by AI and then never fact checked because almost everything it says is factual wrong, I can't even read it.Private Thoughts wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 9:51 am An interesting article on initial stud fees of famous stallions.

"Secretariat’s stud fee started at $10,000 in 1974 and reached as high as $3.5 million by 1990". Later it says, he stood for 35k in 1990. so this is a ????
Then it says, "As the son of legendary Bold Ruler and grandson of Triple Crown winner War Admiral," What? He isn't even related to War Admiral
"Secretariat descended from a long line of champions. his broodmare sire is Hyperion" Again what? His broodmare sire is Princequillo, he isn't related to Hyperion
He sired hundreds of stakes winners that kept his stud price sky high even late in his breeding career - nope, he didn't sire hundreds of SWs and his stud fee was not sky high

10,000 in 1973 equates to 70,800 in today’s dollars using an inflation calculator.Private Thoughts wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 9:51 am An interesting article on initial stud fees of famous stallions.

The recently-shipped-off Yoshida had a good day at Saratoga. His 3yo filly Grayosh (Yoshida x Rosie O'Prado) won the G2 Lake Placid (T), and Yo Daddy (Yoshida x Elle Stormin') took the 11th, a 1-mile Starter Allowance for 3yo+up on the dirt.

Underrated Heart's Cry line was represented by a winner across the pond, too, yesterday.
2023 St Leger winner Continuous(JPN)(Heart's Cry) captured his fourth group title in the G3 Royal Whip Stakes at Curragh.

The very small sentimental side of me, kind of hopes that the Casners bought him back with some of the money they got from selling his sister(Kayce Ace)'s yearling at Saratoga. Since they have a strong tie to that family.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 3:02 pm
No idea. I saw a post on Twitter saying he was heading back so I checked the stud book. And sure enough he has export from Korea on the 8th of August

It'll be interesting, if it is for stud duty. Not much options left from the direct tail male line via Tiznow.
I wanna do bad things with you.
