Thanks-why would ankles be pin fired? Have only heard about doing this to shins. Glad this barbaric practice is falling out of favor and I think is banned by HISA…Summer Bird wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 9:39 pmThose are definitely pin firing marks.Squeaky wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 9:14 pm Noticed in this picture both of OC’s ankles have white spots on them ( pin firing?) -wonder what they are from? https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/l ... uthanized/

Unless she got hurt again, she only missed maybe 2 works. She has been working regularly. In the past 2 weeks I saw an article where Brown said she was doing well, he just wanted to give her a little more time before he raced her.

It’s to help speed up healing to an injury so she must have had some sort of injury to her fetlock joint . I do believe it’s banned by HISA, but unfortunately Ova Charged had raced at tracks that aren’t under HISA jurisdiction.Squeaky wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 9:17 amThanks-why would ankles be pin fired? So sad she ran injured -wish the regulatory vet had flagged her before the race. Those ankles look pretty big to me- bet there was a subtle lameness there esp with flexion. And I am fairly certain a pre-race PET scan would have shown significant abnormalities. Agree with Tessa-this was not just “ a bad step” or “ bad racing luck”/ this was preventable and failure on many levels to protect the poor horse who deserved so much better.

Idiomatic and Randomized went head to head on the front end in the Personal Ensign. Randomized gave out while Idiomatic sprinted away for home. But Raging Sea came running hard at the end and just caught Idiomatic before the wire. Great race by two fine fillies.

Huge run by Raging Sea. I think Idiomatic didn’t realize she was there…maybe got a little tired doing all the running. Distaff is going to be fantastic!BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 5:53 pm Idiomatic and Randomized went head to head on the front end in the Personal Ensign. Really need my girlie Fluffy Socks to pull that very deserved G1W this year. I was surprised they brought her back at age 7 but I take it that means they really want it with her.
I also need WLG to somehow eke out an Eclipse Award.

Totally Justified ( Justify x Outstanding [Galileo]), a maiden with an 'outstanding' pedigree, just won the P.G. Johnson Stakes for 2yo fillies at Saratoga. That dam side made her a natural for the 1 1/16-mile turf race.
Another Justify stakes winner.

Does anyone think War Like Goddess will race until her 8yr old year or do you think she'll retire. But also, do you think she'll race in the Joe Hirsch again this year?

She'll probably be retired. But I selfishly would like to see her around. She has my favorite horse name lol.othybat_99 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:42 pm Does anyone think War Like Goddess will race until her 8yr old year or do you think she'll retire.
