I've so wanted to see one of her fillies race, I was hoping Zilkha had some talent and that's why they've kept her in training...... I feel bad for the other 2 being at the track so long so was hoping to see this one after she had some sequential works but looks like she's back to square one again.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 4:26 pm Nymue will never race.
If they've not managed to get any of the other fillies into the starting to gate, it'll absolutely never happen with the babied last one
Zentatta has got to go down as possibly the worst high profile brodmare in decades.

I hope so, but think they're gonna have to find the magical cross, Balance didn't have a lot success either, seems like the big go to names haven't worked for them all that well, I hope they find it. Would love to see a good colt/stallion or at least another great filly/mare come out of Vertigineux's line.swale1984 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 12:14 amEven before she retired, I Ihought that her impact would be more from her fillies' offspring because of that size.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 7:55 pm I ADORED The Big Mare...but I did not have unrealistic expectations when it came to her prospects as a broodmare.
She is such an outlier physically. So big she dwarfed her competition, even taller and heavier than most of her male opponents. If breeders tend to hide the stats on over-seventeen-hand studs, I imagine working on the breeding prospects of a 17.2-hand mare may have been a real challenge.
Trying to find a stallion to complement her was going to be a tall task (pun intended), and it is not surprising that it hasn't worked out as hoped.

Wait, is McAnally still training? I’d love to send him a race horse.
I’m not familiar with Mike Mitchell; sounds like I’ll have to do some serious reading.

Mike Mitchell gave anything to any horse while vociferously praising the Lord and before someone condemns me for speaking ill of the deceased, I’m being diplomatic.Gemini wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2024 4:34 pmWait, is McAnally still training? I’d love to send him a race horse.
