Some really good stakes races coming up this weekend.
Can Chosen Vron be beaten?
But let's start off with a hunch play for the first day of the Olympics today......
Race 7 #2 PRANCINGTHRUPARIS 6/1

I like your pick. Prancingthruparis is the value play there. Pushiness and Grand Slam Smile will take a lot of money.
The Chosen Vron is great and love watching him. That being said Happy Jack has looked really good the last two races, including a close loss to the Vron. I wouldn't be surprised he pulls it off on Saturday.
Really looking forward to race 4 on Sunday. Looks like a good Allowance race with Parenting, Ultimate Gamble and a couple other solid horses.

Giovani Franco was dislodged from Smooth Salute (Midnight Lute x Smooth as Usual, making him a full to Smooth Like Strait) coming around the last turn in the 1 3/8-mile 5th (T) at Del Mar. The horse was apparently fine and crossed the wire at a gallop. Franco, however, must have hit the ground hard, as he is being taken to a local hospital.

With what Amalgamated Rich Guys spends on those horses, they all could be any kind. It’s the whole not making it to the races until late July of his 3yo year and then being off 11 months that has me concerned. I’ve spent many a day going to the paddock looking for bandages. In this case I’d look for duct tape and bubblegum as I’m guessing that’s what are holding this guy together.

He ran 2nd to Happy Jack in the Triple Bend in June at odds on after being off since October. That used to be concerning. Now it’s just normal spacing. Every horse in the San Diego is coming off a layoff. The DRF definition of layoff needs to change to 180 days. For what it’s worth, I’ve always liked a 7f prep for a route. That’s why they call this gambling.
