A lot of contradictory information out there right now. Of course Mike has the final say as the owner. I wonder if Dornoch goes from the 1 post.
Mike said this morning as of now both of them will be shipping to Monmouth Saturday morning, and
both running. He said he has to decide if he wants to run them against each other and that it wouldn't be the first time he's done something "crazy".
So I guess he rethought things and Fierceness did not ship.

Really hope we see him again. If not this year, next.

Not sure what Timberlake is doing in the Haskell. Wasn't he supposed to cut back? He's not a 9f horse.
Looks like you'll get your wish Tessablue. I just heard on Byk's show a little bit ago that Mindframe and Tuscan Sky have arrived at Monmouth and Fierceness is NOT with them. The protocols for the Haskell don't place a deadline for when Haskell runners have to be on the grounds, so if something untoward goes down with Mindframe between now and early tomorrow morning, Fierceness could still be vanned down to run. But obviously, that's a contingency that's pretty unlikely to happen.
Excellent, thanks for the update! Jim Dandy shaping up to be great.

Dornoch wins the Haskell!! Mindframe runs 2nd and I think Timberlake was third?

IDK what happened to him in the Blue Grass and Ky Derby but this horse is as game as the day is long.

He REALLY is. That is why I am so surprised whenever someone says he can't do it. Dornoch has such heart!

It pleases me to see Dornoch outrun Mindframe....and Luis Saez outride Run-em-into-the-rail Ortiz.
Dornoch should be at the top of the 3yo colts now, yes?

He had no chance from the start in the Derby, but he looks like a different horse than he did in his Derby preps. Those weren't half as good as his last two efforts.

Mindframe stumbled at the start, I think possibly quite badly, and probably lost the position he wanted at that point. He needs to seal the deal better, but he's a very very good horse.

Saban wrote: Wed Jul 10, 2024 3:26 pm So, where do you race a horse like Mighty Message? MM was bought for 230K last year. I am sure they don't want to put him in a claiming race, at least not yet. A graded stakes race is apparently out. A (N2X) allowance race probably is too. A 6 figure non-graded stakes race might be good if they can find a soft spot, but where is it? Anyone got any ideas?
Mighty Message is finally entered in a race, sort of (He last raced on 6/9). MM is entered as an also eligible on 7/29 in an allowance (N2X) race at Ellis Park. He is entered if the race is moved from turf to to the main track (MTO). So, if the weather is bad, we may see Mighty Message race again.

Probably a good idea. If it is muddy enough to move the race, then MM might just find the kind of field he could be competitive in.

Racing is not just about the big horses like Mystik Dan, and other classic contenders to me. I also like to root for average or above average horses that catch my attention.

Anyone can say what they want about Repole, but the way he looks at Fierceness shows nothing but love for that horse, he clearly means a lot to him. It's great that he has a homebred with a deep family history taking him on this ride. Now just if they would realize he's exactly like his sire, and wants no part of 10
Furlongs.

Yes, but it wasn't particularly noteworthy. Took some pressure along the lead but was all-out to win by a diminishing neck, albeit against some older (allowance) horses. No idea if he goes to the Travers off of it.

Veryyyyyyy interesting that Wathnan now owns him outright. Commonwealth had bought into him and opened him up for microshare purchases at the end of May. I wonder what the payout was to microshare owners, considering they only owned him for less than 8 weeks.

Apparently Emir of Qatar is spending tens of millions on established performers here and overseas -doesn’t care how much it costs just wants to win
