Are the rear hooves both dealing with quarter cracks?
I really wish the best for Channel Cat, who blends the bloodlines of two of our finest turf sires.

I agree about Calumet, but I don't think any other farm in KY would've been interested in standing him.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 11:44 pmBut given where he's standing he's not got have a very good chance for people to say if he's a good sire or not

If they were serious quarter cracks, I’d imagine they would have patches on them. The near hind looks to just have a line/marking in the hoof. The far hind just looks a bit crumbly.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 11:06 pm Are the rear hooves both dealing with quarter cracks?

Australia looks as good as his pedigree.
St. Mark's Basilica still looks a bit pony-ish to me.

Good lord, what has happened to his back?!? Clearly they're trying to hide it in the shadows but my god what a massive dip he's taken behind the withers.Nenikikamen23 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 12:55 pm

Honestly I'd take a St Mark's over Little Big Bear any day. Normally I'm not for the ponyish look but Little just seems ugly to meMiss Woodford wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 5:37 pm Australia looks as good as his pedigree.

Seems like photos of Scat Daddy show him with more of a dipped back as he aged, so it may be something running in the bloodline. The Seattle Slews were pretty notorious for developing dipped toplines as they aged, and that's passed down through the male line; Tapit's a great-grandson and shows it, though he isn't as coarse as a lot of the earlier Slews.Nenikikamen23 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 8:51 pmRetrospectiv wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 7:38 pmGood lord, what has happened to his back?!? It's called Swayback. It's genetic I think. And it get worse as they age.
