It was subsequently noted she has been pensioned. Provisional (Justify) also debuts there. He's a 1/2 brother to Arrogate.
Highland Falls won. Provisional was a well-beaten 7th.
Provisional ran yesterday at EP and finished 7th again. It was his first start since the race above.

Dea Matrona(JPN), 2022F. Kizuna(JPN) x Homecoming Queen(IRE)(G1 winner & G1 producer) came in 2nd in that race,
Satono Carnaval(JPN) won easily the G3 Hakodate Nisai Stakes 1200m turf to become the first Japanese 2yo to win a graded race in Japan. D
This must be wonderful news for the Northern Farm Mixed Sale.
And it's amazing that Kitasan Black(JPN) can sire a brilliant sprinter as well as classic distance horses.

At this point, he’s more accomplished than Mage, and we should be referring to Mage as Dornoch’s full brother.

King Squall(JPN), 2022C. Duramente(JPN) x Rain on the Dune(GB)(1/2 to Bellamy Road) by Frankel(GB), won his debut impressively in Sapporo R5 1800m turf smashing the 2yo course record set by Sodashi(JPN) four years ago on July 21st 2024.
https://en.netkeiba.com/db/horse/2022104207/
The final crop of Duramente was VERY handful before the race.
Will he be the second coming of Gold Ship????

I love the cooling mist spraying from the paddock rails. What a great idea.

Good grief! I'm surprised he wasn't a scratch after rearing and bolting out of sight like that.
Gold Ship nearly killed stall handlers when being loaded for a big race at Meydan, so I really hope this colt gets over his behavior and is NOT like that bad-tempered grey.
Not OK to be that dangerous around other horses or people.

King Squall was like this on the ring of the 2022 JRHA Select Sale (hip 479) ....

https://www.youtube.com/live/HDPoIIhRfoo?t=27708s

Let's hope that his trainer Yoshito Yahagi will work harder to set him right.
He is likely to be sent off the favorite in the G3 Sapporo Nisai Stakes next time out anyway.
