I played all 5 days , religiously. I was in 2 "play alongs" on forums, and I won a lot of money on Tues and Wed. Despite that I only wager small amounts in exotics and win wagers . I did drips and drabs on Thurs Fri Sat but the meet was a windfall for me. I never do that well in US races, I guess I just got lucky. But honestly, I really worked hard at it, I stayed up late every night and "studied" so I think I was well prepapred. I forgot to post my picks here but doing it 5 days in a row on more than 2 places was a bit too much for me.

I finally got to watch replay of the Chesham...and omg, Bedtime Story looked like she was running while the rest of the field started cantering.
Her pedigree is really interesting - By Frankel, sure, but also out of the great sprinter Mecca's Angel, whom she resembles. TON of speed there. I suspect she may be a great miler.

Is the sire gene pool more sallow in the UK? It seems like I keep seeing the same handful of sires

Everything is a grandson/great-x-grandson of Sadler's Wells or Danehill. Very few stallions without multiple crosses of Northern Dancer.

I saw one the other day that had at least 12 and I might have missed some.

Well, when I said I worked hard on Royal Ascot races, and played them religiously all 5 days, I also made a list of the sires of the horses who won and placed. (When I do due dilligence I tend to go "all out". )

It really isn't "the same handful of sires", although we tend to have that problem as well though in the U.S. too.
