Like Messier as part of his dossier.Squeaky wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 6:55 pmHa. They do seem to disappear into the black hole of “ what could have been “ horses. Maybe a year from now we might see them again and there will be no explanation given for their absence besides “ minor issues”.

I thought that Mighty Message might be entered in the Curlin Stakes, a 9 furlong, 135K race at Saratoga for 3 year old colts and geldings and fillies that have not won a graded stakes race at a mile or over this year. The race is on the 19th of July.Saban wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 3:26 pm So, where do you race a horse like Mighty Message? MM was bought for 230K last year. I am sure they don't want to put him in a claiming race, at least not yet. A graded stakes race is apparently out. A (N2X) allowance race probably is too. A 6 figure non-graded stakes race might be good if they can find a soft spot, but where is it? Anyone got any ideas?
Despite being restricted to 3 year olds that have not won a graded stakes race at a mile or more this year, there could be some tough colts in there. Mighty Message could finish up the track again if he was entered.

He wasn't entered, I looked at the field last night.Saban wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 12:48 amI thought that Mighty Message might be entered in the Curlin Stakes, a 9 furlong, 135K race at Saratoga for 3 year old colts and geldings and fillies that have not won a graded stakes race at a mile or over this year. Pandagate son of Arrogate wins the New York Derby at Finger Lakes. Skipped out of work for a couple of hours to see him - Acacia and Miguel Clemente were there and I congratulated them as well as jockey Dylan Davis. Quite a thrill -Panda looks just like his sire with that big stride. Drove back in a yellow weather tornado and hail warning but well worth it for this Arrogate fan. https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/a ... ork-derby/

It is crazy how much he looks like his sire! If he had a bit more white on his face, he'd be his spitting image IMO.Squeaky wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 5:55 pm Pandagate son of Arrogate wins the New York Derby at Finger Lakes. I hope everything goes smoothly, but if it doesn’t, and he can’t make the Travers, Beckman still did the right thing by HM. The colt needed the time off after the brutal Derby and rough Belmont, Travers or no. It’s unfortunate that there’s zero room for error, but doing right by a horse is always the right thing

That’s all anyone can ask for. He’ll run well, but I know he can win this with a clean trip
I’m not thrilled about them looking for another jockey, but Whit’s done a great job, so I really can’t complain

Pletch will only run Fierceness in Haskell if Mindframe does not run. Orherwise Fierceness goes in Jim D. Tuscan Sky also running there. Danny Gargan not happy with post one draw for Dornoch and may go to Jim Dandy instead. More competition for Grey. https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/s ... w-many-go/

No. It is repoles decision rather he is running both. He said this morning that as of now that both of them will be going to Monmouth. He hasn't decided if he's leaving one home, or taking both of them yet.Squeaky wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 5:35 pm Pletch will only run Fierceness in Haskell if Mindframe does not run. Your post is a bit confusing-is he shipping both or not? Mike will talk to Todd and they will decide together. I doubt they both go. We’ll see I guess. A lot of contradictory information out there right now. Of course Mike has the final say as the owner. I wonder if Dornoch goes from the 1 post.

both running. He said he has to decide if he wants to run them against each other and that it wouldn't be the first time he's done something "crazy".

Aww, I was hoping Fierceness would go to the Jim Dandy. Might attend next week, and I'd really like to see him. I understand why they'd want to duck SOCIETY MAN, though
Not sure what Timberlake is doing in the Haskell. Wasn't he supposed to cut back? He's not a 9f horse.

Mystik Dan has been sent to McPeek’s farm for a freshening. Most likely done racing for the year.

Looks like you'll get your wish Tessablue. I just heard on Byk's show a little bit ago that Mindframe and Tuscan Sky have arrived at Monmouth and Fierceness is NOT with them. The protocols for the Haskell don't place a deadline for when Haskell runners have to be on the grounds, so if something untoward goes down with Mindframe between now and early tomorrow morning, Fierceness could still be vanned down to run. But obviously, that's a contingency that's pretty unlikely to happen.Tessablue wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 7:41 pm Aww, I was hoping Fierceness would go to the Jim Dandy. Unmatched Wisdom (Cairo Prince) stays unbeaten and wins the 1 1/8-mile Curlin Stakes at Saratoga. Went to the front and stayed there.
I suspect we will be seeing the bay colt in the Travers.
