Black Blossom won the Kyoto 10R Hozukyo Stakes Allowance today!

he suffers from tendon injury and had to rest in Northern Farm for sometime, this was his comeback race after recovering for 2 years!

he is now 4 wins out of 5 races

his running reminded people of his father :)

Agreed!
Look forward to seeing him step up to grade stakes levels soon
He is registered as black, by the way.

Thank you. He looks to have some real ability; hopefully he will stick around.

I put a win/place on Bellagio Opera. He only ran 3rd. I was excited before the race and thought he would win.

I'm really confused. This race is later tonight. The above that Tachyon posted is the post position numbers.

Well I thought that Takarazuka Kinen poll ''final results'' I had posted above earlier, in which Bellagio Opera was 3rd, caused confusion.
I apologize for everything, haha!

Yes, it's about 5 hours to post for the G1.
It's raining in Kyoto and turf will be soft.
I do hope that Do Deuce will live up to the expectation today but I don't know if he likes this type of going.

OMG you were absolutely right!!!
It looked like Bellagio would be the winner at the eighth pole indeed.
But he finished 3rd!!!!!!!

Blow the Horn(JPN), 2019H. Epiphaneia(JPN) x Halteclere(JPN) by Durandal(JPN), captured his first G1 title in the Takarazuka Kinen 2200m turf at Kyoto on June 23rd 2024.
That was the first G1 victory for the young rider Akira Sugawara, too.

I just looked up his pedigree. Really awesome to see his 4th dam is Obeah, the dam of Go For Wand. I loved her.

''Epiphaneia responsible for four G1s in phenomenal first half of the year''

https://en.netkeiba.com/news/news_detail.html?id=1236
This spring, progeny of Epiphaneia have been particularly dominant. .......

Epiphaneia's progeny have shown their versatility by excelling across various distances, from mile races to Classic distances, and under different track conditions, from fast to tough conditions......
And Epiphaneia(JPN)(Symboli Kris s x Cesario by Special Week) was the only stallion who sired multiple JRA G1 winners during the first half of the year.
Here below are the list of the G1 siring stallions in that period.

Epiphaneia(JPN) : Stellenbosch - Oka Sho, Ten Happy Rose - Victoria Mile, Danon Decile - Tokyo Yushun, Blow the Horn - Takarazuka Kinen
King Kamehameha(JPN) : Peptide Nile - February Stakes
Dark Angel(IRE) : Mad Cool - Takamatsunomiya Kinen
Lord Kanaloa(JPN) : Bellagio Opera - Osaka Hai
Kizuna(JPN) : Justin Milano - Satsuki Sho
Leontes(JPN) : T O royal - Tenno Sho Spring
Palace Malice(USA) : Jantar Mantar - NHK Mile Cup
Harbinger(GB) : Cervinia - Yushun Himba
Acclamation(USA) : Romantic Warrior - Yasuda Kinen

This is just very weird! A filly just broke her maiden for fun under Rosario for Asmussen in the 4th at CD. It was her 8th lifetime start all in MSWs at FG and CD. The weirdness comes from the fact that her silks are seemingly identical to the ones carried by this Ramjet! The only difference I could see (and it's a pretty big one) is the cap color. Rosario wore a cap with the turquoise and red colors of the silks, while the cap for Ramjet is solid yellow!

The owner of the Asmussen filly (her name is Mugen, by the way) is Koji Maeda, which does sound Japanese to me though I can't be sure, but I see no other reason why the two horses should be connected.

I tried to post a link to the replay off of NYRABETS, but it didn't work. So if anyone cares to see this, just queue up a replay of Race #4 at CD today and note the silks of the winner. It piqued my curiosity and I'd love to hear any thoughts!!
